Q: Should i buy a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, or wait for the 2011 model to come out?
There are great deals available on the 2010 models right now.
A: The 2011 is expected to have some design changes and further split the Dodge/Chrysler products. The Chrysler version will be more upscale over the offering from Dodge.
Yes, this time of year dealers are interested in moving some vehicles as tax time comes January 1.
Q: Any info on the next generation dodge grand caravan?
We have a 2008 dodge grand caravan. Our 27mth leave is up in a few months and we are thinking about what to get next. We are quite happy with the grand caravan, so we are thinking of getting another one. The main reason is because we have dogs and when we travel we fold down the 2nd row buckets and the dogs lay there and the kids are on the 3rd row bench. So my question is, does any one know anything about the next generation Dodge Grand Caravan? Could it be out in 2011 or would it be more like 2013 or later? Also, can anyone reccomend an SUV that would be good for travelling for us with dogs? We like the van because the dogs can lay on the floor instead of a folded down seat.
Thanks
A: stay with a caravan they have proven to be good vehicles over the years, and the newer ones are just as good,i cant predict what they,ll be like in the future that’s to far ahead, but so far the newer ones are doing real good ,good luck.
Q: which of these cars is the best deal for the money?

A: Wow… wall of text for the lose… but at least you gave real information so that’s a bonus
I’d vote for the Saturn SL1. I owned one for a long time- bought it in 2001 with 67k miles on it, sold it in 2005 with 196k miles on it. Never had any trouble, got almost 40 mpg out of it on highway, cost me nothing to insure and I probably spent less than 2 grand on maintenance in the four yeas and 130k miles I put on it. I miss my craptastic old Saturn.
Grand Am- not bad but that’s a lot of miles and the motor may need serious work soon.
Troopers are awesome- last forever but the parts and labor are getting hard to find now as they’ve been out of production for a long time.
Dodge Neon- sucks. Just sucks. Avoid these. noisy, break a lot, ugly… just avoid them.
Blazer- not a bad truck but crap on mileage and the high miles on this one might mean it will eat a lot of your money for maint.
Chrysler T&C- lol… just lol…
Lincoln- You don’t want a 200+k miles car. you just don’t. And certainly not a Ford.
Ranger isn’t a bad option either if you’re game for a truck.
The sable doesn’t look too bad either- shouldn’t be a bad car to maintain, doesn’t have a lot of miles for its year.
I’d look at the sable and the SL1 personally. Happy hunting.
Q: How long would a 2011 jetta TDI last?
- i live in nb, canada so theres alot of salt on the roads here (the jetta apparently has an unlimited km, 12 year corrosion warranty)
- i make 2 hour trips every weekend in the summer
+ i had a Plymouth Grand Voyager that lasted 12 years and 350000 KM before the transmission died
+ i have a dodge caravan that has lasted 5 years and 220000 KM and have had 1 issue, with the alternator
+ i am super easy on cars
A: Barring mishaps and “botched” repair jobs you would still have the car in 20 years time. However, I do not claim to know where your VW cars are sourced from, IF it is a German import the above applies, if it comes from Brazil or Mexico then there are quaility issues.
Q: Is this a “Buy It Now!!” deal for a 2005 Mustang?
Background info: I’ve been eyeballing the 2011 Mustang GT for a few months now. I’ve never really owned a “cool car”, with anything more than a 200 hp, beat up engine. All of the new cars I’ve owned in my life, were 4 banger Japanese made commuter cars and the wimpy 4 cyl Dodge Caravan, that I owned, when I was married. I’m 50 years old and I feel like I’m way overdue for a fun, mid-life crisis type of car. I’ve studied the competition, like a the 370Z, Camaro, Challenger and arguably, the BMW M3. I haven’t driven any of them yet, but like how the Mustang looks on paper and how it looks and sounds in videos. Unfortunately, when I crunch the numbers for a new GT, the down payment and the monthly payments look very scary, on my budget, especially since my 2004 Honda Civic runs like a top and I have zero need for a new car. Recently My ex wife, whom I have a very good relationship with, has listened to me talk about how I’ve done everything and given everything to my two exes and my three kids, for over 27 years and I’m ready to buy myself a new toy and do something for myself for a change.
So, here’s the deal: My ex-wife’s co worker, is putting her Mother in a retirement home, because she can no longer care for her Mom by herself. When the co-worker mentioned taking her Mom’s 2005 Mustang down to a dealer trade it in on a new car, my ex wife told her to wait and my ex called me up. I’m waiting for pictures and details tomorrow. Here’s what I know. It’s grey, it sat in the garage for the past two years. It was literally owned by a little, old, retired lady, who only drove it for 3 years. I asked if it had a V8, which would make the car a 2005 aluminum block, 300hp GT. I heard the coworker in the background. She replied, “I don’t know, but it rumbles when you turn it on”. So, I’m guessing that the car is a grey 2005 GT, probably with very, very low miles, probably with an automatic transmission (something that I want, after driving mostly sticks for 32 years). She wants $8,000 for the car. For all I know, it might even be a Premium package GT. If this car is what I hope it is. Do you think it’s a steal? And do you think it would be a good compromise, as my fun car? I could buy this car for cash, right now, versus, paying 10 grand down and $450 something a month for 5 years, to get a new one. Your thoughts?
I heard the woman in the background, saying the car was in perfect, mint, mint condition, which seemed like a no brainer, given the cricumstances. I’m thinking if it’s a GT, I should drive it and then buy it. What would this car, in this condition cost on the open market? Seems like it might be 4k or 5k under street value. BTW, I live in The SF Bay area, in California
Just talked to my ex. Still no word if the car is a V8 or auto or leather, but she said, “You know it’s a convertible right?”
Holly crap, this just gets better. She doesn’t know if it’s a V8, but she says it is a GT!! Which means it is a 2005, 4.6L aluminum block, 300hp V8, Grey convertible, cloth seats (who cares?)
A: Alright brotha, this is what you are gonna do.
Buy that 05 mustang for $8000. Its an effin steal. (see: http://www.kbb.com/used-cars/ford/mustang/2005/private-party-value/pricing-report?condition=good&id=599&category=coupe&equipment=23362|true&mileage=45000)
Then drive it for at least 2-3 weeks everyday. every-f’n-day. If it looses its “fun factor” within that time frame sell it for all most double for what you paid for it ( because when i blued booked an 05 gt with 45k miles in good condition, no extra options=it comes out to 15+ thousand dollars in worth)
Now what I would do personally is get the car, drive it for a few months until the 2011 mustangs go up for sale on ebay with 5000 miles and be wayyy cheaper than brand new. (its basically brand new, no point in buying brand new if 15% of the value goes down when you leave the dealership) That way your having your cake and eating it too.
