Q: Wheres the gas pump fuse on a Chevrolet silverado pick up?
My dad changed the fuel indicator on a chevrolet silverado 1500 5.3 2002. he did the wiring wrong and he thinks he blew the fuse of the gas pump. hes fixed the wiring but now we dont know where the fuse for the gas pump is to fix it, its not in the fuse box. please help
A: Fuse may be an inline type, not sure. May also have an inertia switch that might have shorted out, check that too. Trace the harness until you find it.
Q: Where can i find the Chevrolet Silverado emblems?
I’m not looking for the bowtie, but the “Silverado” letters located on the the front doors and tailgate. The “r” and “d” came off my passanger side door and i’m looking to replace them. I can find the group of letters as a hole for a about 60 bucks but I’m simply looking for the two individual.
A: try jc witney or lmc truck they will have the stock replacements good luck and God bless
Q: Will a 1994 steering wheel fit on a 1998 chevrolet silverado?
I have a 98 Silverado but I like the older 94 model steering wheels. Can they be swaped? I know I will loose the airbag.
A: may not due to modification in order to adapt the airbag. check with an auto wrecker to be sure or go to a pick and pull and pull them both to see if it will work before buying.
Q: Has anyone had electrical problems in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado?
I have a 03 silverado 1500 5.3. I have problems starting it. If I jump it and start it every day it will start just fine, but if I leave it for a few days and trying starting it, it wont start so I have to jump it. I have a brand new battery in it. Has anyone else had a problem like this or maybe know what could be wrong?

Q: Will General Motors Warranty for a 2007 chevrolet silverado cover a broken transmission at 58k miles?
Have a 2007 Silverado classic that had transmission failure , will they cover this warranty? I know that theres a 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty but sometimes theres the fine print. If you are a GM mechanic or Dealership employee who can answer the correct question. thanks
A: This is what the 100k warranty is all about. There should be no problem getting your trans repaired or replaced if nessary.Best of luck. Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case
Case, all internal lubricated parts, torque converter, transfer case, transmission/transaxle mounts, seals, and gaskets.
There is no deductibles on covered repairs.
Q: How to replace door pins/bushings on 2005 Chevrolet Silverado?
I was wondering if anyone knew how to replace the worn bushings and pins on a 05 chevy silverado door. Does the door need to be removed? if so how this is alot different from my old 1986 GMC. Seems silly a door should wear out in 3 years.
Thanks in advance.
A: yes you either need a door holder or some one with a good floor jack and someone to help you and the remove the old pins and slide the door outwards enough so that you can work on it to get the old pins out and the new ones back in,then slide the door back towards the vehicle and align it up and install the new pins,if you haven’t ever done this before it can be really tricky to do,and if your not really careful you can easily bust new bushings putting the pin back in,don’t hammer it in it should go in fairly easy, you,ll need help doing this though its not a one person job unless you have a tool called a door holder or installer, and they cost around 150 bucks, good luck.
Q: 2003 chevrolet silverado sound system problems in the cold?
my chevy 2003 silverado extended cab shortbox has an audio problem. my speakers dont work when it is cold outside, about -10 or colder. i cant figure out why and i have never heard of this before.
A: I’ve heard of problems where cars have to warm up before the audio works…. quite common in any cars made by Chrystler owned companies and older Subarus.
Q: 1997 Chevrolet silverado temperature guage sticking what can be done?
I do not understand why just all of a sudden the temperature guage is sticking it goes from the starting point to 120 degrees and will not go any further up. The heater works. What can I do short of replacing the panel.
A: If I remember the Temp sensor is located on the side of the cylinder head between #1 and # 3 cylinder (driver side front two cylinders ) When you locate the sensor it will have a single wire going to it . Engine not running but the key in the run position . Have someone watching the temp gage .Now Unhook the wire from the Temp sensor Key still on engine off ! Now ground the temp sender wire(Touch it somewhere on the engine. IE Exhaust manifold. When you ground that wire the temp gage should read maxed out .If it does not read maxed out the gage itself is malfunctioning. If the gage does not change when the wire is grounded It’s probably the sensor or the coolant level is low or a air pocket . The sensor is easy to replace but when you take it out coolant will come out .If you replace the sensor do not use any type of sealer on it just screw it in snug and plug the wire then add coolant as needed. This is the most common thing to look at however if this doesn’t do the trick take it in to a Tech. Hope this helps you!
Q: How to fix 1994 chevrolet silverado tail lights?
Whenever I put on my left blinker, both sides flash, and the same with the right. Whenever I put my truck into reverse the white lights don’t light up, the brake lights do. What do you think the problem is? How could I fix it? & how much am I looking to pay? Thank you.
I do not know anything about vehicles. Where could I take my truck to get it fixed and how much will it cost me?
A: The box is not properly grounded to the frame. Remove the tailights & clean the ground wires. Run a seperate ground wire from the frame to the box.

Q: Radio doesn’t work in a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado…..?
I have a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado P.U and all of sudden the radio is playing very low even turned fully up. The speakers are good so i figured that there was something wrong with the radio but i don’t know. Any help would be grateful..Thank you in advance.
A: You’ll want to price a refurbished radio through GM, or look in the aftermarket. It’s got an internal problem of some kind, and not worth attempting to fix. The aftermarket will likely be your cheapest alternative.
This happens a lot in all makes of cars and trucks.
Q: What is the engine size for the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with extended cab?
I’ve already looked in the door jamb and in under the hood, but I can’t find it anywhere. I would appreciate real answers not being told to look in the Owner’s Manual which the previous owner lost.
A: It is really hard to say because they came with so many engine combos. Now you can take your vin# and call a dealership talk to the parts department they can tell you which engine would have came in the truck. Hope this helps you out.
Q: What to check on a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado for electrical?
I am having to jump start my truck to go places. I bought a battery last week because I have no Idea on how old the battery was. Where should I look to see what is causing my battery to go dead? The alternator light hasn’t come on, the amp meter on the dash seems to slightly fluctuate, but stays on 14 Volts. I need suggestions on where to look? If I try to start it the lights on my instrument cluster tends to flash.
A: did you check the battery terminals to make sure they are clean and tight? also it might be the ground cable.that, s what was wrong with my car, the ground cable was,nt contacting the side terminal on the battery.
Q: Whats the value of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado LS with a salvaged title?
It looks like it is in mint condition, everything works great on it, new tires, only 48000 miles. Is it a good buy at $5000. Also it was wrecked, hence the salvage title. Liability insurance with PIP and insured/uninsured motorist will be about $45 bucks a month.
A: Just because it salvaged does not always mean it’s been repaired or the vehicle is junk. You can have a car that was theft recovery and in perfect shape and be titled salvaged. Usually a salvage vehicle loses about 50% to 60% of it true value. Some states require you to have them inspected to have them road worthy. Insurance compainies will insure salvages cars but don’t expect full value if you wreck it. They will usually ony pay about 50% of it’s value.
Q: How much horsepower does a 2003 Chevrolet silverado with a vortec engine have?
It’s a 4.8 liter it’s either a vortec 364
Or a 327 can you tell me the horsepower for both
It’s either a 364 or a 327 it’s a 4.8 liter and it’s a v8
A: In 2004 my 4.8 was advertised at 200HP. The 5.3 advertised at 210HP. (((The 4.8 is 292 cubic inches…not 327)))
Q: what is better a chevrolet avalanche or a chevrolet silverado 1500 LT?
I would use this for driving to school which is like 5 – 10 miles away. I would use this for towing my dad’s boat and I would use this for hunting which truck should i get?
A: They are almost exactly the same, if you look at a crew cab Silverado and an Avalanche, you are really talking about the same truck.
The Avalanche has the Suburban front end, so that’s a matter of personal preference.
The Avalanche has plastic trim around the bed, that’s personal preference.
The Avalanche and the Silverado LTZ have the same interior, The Silverado LT is different, I think it’s more functional, but again, personal preference.
The Avalanche has the fold down rear seat and window. The silverado doesn’t, but when would you ever actually use that?
I’d base the decision on price and cost of insurance, unless you like the looks of one over another.
