Q: What seats the front rotors on a 2008 ford escape?
When removing and replacing the front rotors on a 2008 Ford Escape 4wd, what holds the rotor in place? Should the rotor be pounded onto the hub for a press fit, or are there just retaining clips that go over the wheel studs?
A: I’ve owned about 7 fords in the last 10 years, I love them, but those damn rotors are sometimes a pain in the rear! some are screwed in place, and some are just put in place. the way to tell is when you remove the wheel, look for a screw head that is flush with the rotor that has a star pattern, it is not a regular screwdriver pattern, it is the star one, if you see those then you must remove them before the rotor will come off.
In any case, the rotor will probably be stuck on the hub very very hard, you will need to probably pound it off by hitting it with a rubber mallet, or your boot! if you plan on turning the rotors to save some cash them hit them with something soft like a rubber mallet, or, if you don’t have that, put a piece of soft wood flush against the rotor and hit the wood with the hammer to try and dislodge the rotor. if you are planning on replacing the rotors then simply smash the crap out of the rotor once you get the screws off if you see any. Hit the rotor at the very top and very bottom alternating back and forth, it will come off, don’t be afraid to pound it as hard as you can.
Q: How do I find 2008 Ford Escape factory keyless entry codes?
I just purchased a pre-owned 2008 Ford Escape and need to get the factory code for the keyless entry in order to erase old codes and set new ones.
A: sometimes when you purchase a used vehicle, the place you bought it from might provide it.
a small used car place most likely not going to have it.
a dealership usually is able to retrieve the codes for you and provide it during purchase.
the only place you can get it is from the dealership, using a computer and a vcm connection to gain access to the security system in the pcm.
Q: How do I install satellite radio into my Ford Escape 2009?
I have 2009 Ford Escape that came with the SAT button, but no satellite radio, how do I install satellite radio into my car?
A: The only way you can get satellite radio is to buy an aftermarket Sirius XM receiver, 0or find an Wrecked Escape with satellite and rob all of the components (Sat receiver, wiring harness, etc.) including the antenna.
Q: My 2002 Ford Escape rear lights and dash lights do not come on right away. Could they be on a timer?
I start my 2002 Ford Escape and the rear lights and dash lights do not come on for 5-20 minutes. Any ideas what the problem might be??
A: Start with checking the fuses!
Q: 01 Ford Escape a reliable fuel efficient vehicle?
I’ve been looking for a car for about 5 months now, I believe I want to go with this 01 Ford Escape. V6 with 61k miles on it. It’s nice and Ford has always been a reliable car with the family. Anyone have a major problem with one? Would you recommend it even though it’s an older model?
If its not high on fuel efficiency then is it at least a reliable vehicle?
A: I was able to buy this car in 2001. I just got to say if you’re looking for a fuel efficient car you’re looking at the wrong car. The average in city fuel gage is about 20 to 22 a gallon. If you’re serious about getting a fuel efficient car you should look into crossovers.
Q: How do you program a key FOB (Keyless Entry Remote) for a 2006 Ford Escape?
I need to know how to program a key FOB for a 2006 Ford Escape. Can you tell me? Thanks!
I got instructions on how to do it, but I lost them before I did it.
A: 1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door
locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.
2. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm
programming.
3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to
confirm programming.
4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
Q: what is a good reference for car repairs for a ford escape?
i am getting into doing my own minor automotive maintenance and repairs (oil, brakes, etc). what is a good reference book or manual for a ford escape?
A: Haynes manual. I use the Haynes manual for everything.
If you really want to drop some big bucks on it, get the Ford factory service manual. It’ll be huge and might need its own cart to move it around, but there won’t be a single part on that car you can’t identify and get a parts number for.
For the typical driveway stuff though, the Haynes manual will get you through everything you want to do.
Q: Would 15 inch ford escape rims fit on a explorers that supposed to have 15 inch rims on it?
Would 15 inch 2003 ford escape rims fit on a 1998 explorers that supposed to have 15 inch rims on it?
A: no. each car/truck/suv has a specific bolt pattern. only wheels made for that specific vehicle will fit.
Q: When will 2009 Ford Escape Hybrids be available to buy?
I really would like to buy a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid, but would like to wait to the 2009 come out. If i like the 2009 slot better i can get that, or if i decide to stick with the 08 they would then be considered a year old model and become cheaper.
A: a hybrid is not going to be any cheaper than it is right now, today.
in fact, look for a 3-5 thousand dollar ‘market adjustment’ on a hybrid escape. (sticker + 3-5k)
they are darn near impossible for us (the dealers) to get, and do not stick around very long once they are on the lot.
09’s should be out sept-oct this year. 08’s are tough tough tough to get ahold of. my advice… if you find a dealer that has one, go ahead and buy now!
Q: How good is a all wheel drive Ford Escape off road?
In all areas off road how good is a all wheel drive ford escape with a stick shift.
A: The Escape is essentially a FWD car package converted to AWD. FAIR in off road use as long as you stay out of the real nasty stuff. As previous poster stated – no low range – so no rock climbing.
Q: Where is the Ford Escape ABS module located?
It’s a 2001 model, but I assume they’re all in the same place for all years of the Ford Escape. Does anyone know exactly where the ABS module is located on the Ford Escape?
A: under the mater cylinder/booster,
Q: How reliable is your Ford Escape?
I am considering the purchase of a 2005 Ford Escape, but don’t know anyone that actually owns one. I’ve looked at reviews online and they are all pretty positive. Anyone with bad experiences? My second choice is a Camry, but I’ve had sedans all my life so thinking of making a change.
A: My son and sister both have Escapes, and they have had very little trouble with them.
Q: What is a good mileage ford a 01/02 ford escape?
Looking to purchase a ford escape for around $6,000. Most of them have 100,000 +/- miles. Is this okay? Maintenance was most likely done on the cars by then so it should run okay right? Any suggestions or advice?
A: Look it’s a used vehicle who really knows what has been done and what hasn’t. There are alot of people that come throughmy shop that will put a band aid on a serious problem and go trade it in. Find one you like, find a company that does used car inspections, walk around the vehicle with them and go from there.
Good Luck.
