Q: what’s your opinion of the new toyota tundra?
i have a quad cab hemi dodge ram right now but i’m thinking the new tundra is calling my name. any opinions/suggestions/complaints?

A: It is a very ugly looking truck but with all of the benefits that it has such as the power, mpg, acceleration, and reliability the lack of good design is a small price to pay. I really recommend that you scrap the ram and buy the Tundra. you will get everything that you want out of it and more and it will put your ram to shame in performance and power.

Q: what truck should i buy, a new toyota tundra or a new ford f150?
personally i would never buy a vehicle new but the company is buying it for me and i get my pick. I’ll be using it for everyday driving and towing mostly light loads. any suggestions?

A: Definitely the Ford F150.

Consider this about the Tundra. Open your favorite Internet search page. Search for “Tundra Rust”, without the quotes. You will see that the Tundra frame has severe rust problems. Enough to warrant a class action lawsuit.

Personal experience. This is something that Steve Barr does not mention in the commercials. I have a friend who bought a new Tundra to pull a fifth wheel travel trailer. This truck was factory rated to pull his trailer and the truck was not overloaded. After the first couple of camping trips he noticed his truck pulled to one side. The brought it to the alignment shop. After another camping trip the truck started pulling to one side again. After further investigation he found that the frame was permanently bent from pulling his trailer. A whole new definition of “Not a happy camper”.

You could not give me a Tundra.

it will have a glass top and built in genarator,also a built in air compressor.the running boards will lift up and down and a hidden tool box in the bed.and last but not least the interior dosn’t look like a truck

Q: the new toyota tundra towing capabilites?
I was thinking about looking into getting a one of the new toyota tundras I was wondering if any one knows aobut the true towing capabilitie? I would want to use the car to tow 2 vehicles so your looking at like 11k pounds I’ve heard they can tow 10k any one know about 11k or 12k pounds?

A: Get the Dodge Ram with a Cummins engine,I had a 2001 go over 400,000 miles pulling 10,000-13,000lb campers with no trouble.With that amount of weight a gas engine won’t last long and will burn a lot of gas,I was getting 14mpg average going 70mph on the highway with a 11,000 camper.

Q: Does anybody know when is the new Toyota Tundra 2007 4×4 coming to the market?
I want to buy this model with the shift in the middle of the 2 seats, not in the steering.
Also does anybody know about how much would it be?

A: The 2007 Toyota Tundra will be available in February of 2007. The initial launch date of January has been delayed by 1 month.

Q: Should I buy a new Toyota Tundra or a new Ford Mustang GT?
I currently have an suv and can’t decide if I should get a new truck or a muscle car. After a lot of shopping, my monthly payment will be about the same for the $$. I am a mass commuter, not married or have children. I love the Mustang GT but also have to consider inclement weather during the winter. Please help me!!!

A: Neither of these vehicles is very good for a mass commuter.

The Mustang is highly impractical for the winter unless you are going with the 2010 Mustang GT, in which Ford FINALLY makes Electronic Stability Control standard.

The Tundra’s gas mileage is terrible. Unless you are doing construction or are always in need of a lot of cab room, then you don’t need it.

Have you considered a vehicle like the Subaru WRX or the MazdaSpeed 3? Both have turbocharged engines to match the power of the Mustang GT, but are much better in the snow.

The WRX is AWD and gets 25 mpg highway on premium fuel. It also comes in a hatchback or sedan.

The MazdaSpeed is a hatchback that is FWD, gets 26 mpg highway on premium fuel and comes with Electronic Stability control, standard.

Both cars start under $25K

A: they make some original cartoons and voice delayed movies as well …. Please Note… with Toyota jumping into the big truck market… they actually surpassed GM ,overall , with product average gas guzzling consumption … and their truck is awfull

Q: Have you heard anything about the new 2007 Toyota Tundra Diesels?
I heard there might be a diesel engine being offered in the new style 2007 Toyota Tundra. Do you know anything about these? Like when will they be offered? What the gas mileage will be? Any information would be great! I also heard there might be a diesel engine in the Tacomas as well…is that true?

A: I have a friend at the Toyota plant in San Antonio where there building the Toyota Trucks.

He says that their building a 3/4 ton truck with an in line 6 cyl diesel to compete with the ford 4 door crew cab

Q: Are the new Toyota Tundra’s just hype?
I am thinking about buying a tundra or tocoma truck. I am also thinking about the new hybrids too. Does anybody have any input or personal experience owning any of these models?

A: i have worked on all of them. the Tundra is the real deal. the commercials are real. Toyota has done its research. both the Tundra and the Tacoma are more than capable trucks. the crew cab tundra Texas edition the king, more power towing leg room and an engine that may never quit, it may just last forever. as far a Hybrids go Toyota is quickly surpassing Honda but not just yet. the Prius is OK as hybrids go very reliable and great on fuel. if you really want a hybrid check out Lexus, they are taking it to a hole new level with some in the 400 horse power range. happy shopping

Q: Are the new toyota tundra commercials real?
We are trying to figure out, if toyota has real drivers, in the dramatic new commercials they have. We really like the commercials but are wondering if they are real. I mean a truck stopping right before going off a cliff, or stopping so fast pulling 10,000 pounds….what do you think? I think they are real, but my hunny doesn’t think toyota would but peoples life at danger like that.

A: That commercial is probably real… although I imagine it’s slightly digitally enhanced for TV… now the commercials for the other Toyota truck… the Tacoma… I doubt the Lochness Monster has a beef with the car maker and I don’t think any vehicle…. not even an armored tank would survive a direct hit by a shooting comet !

Q: Can you fit subwoofers under the back seat in a double cab toyota tundra (new body style)?

A: try mtx. they make loaded and amplified enclosures to fit perfectly usually under the seat or somewhere else.
