Learn more about new Toyota Tundra at your automotive destination eGmCarTech.com

Q: what’s your opinion of the new toyota tundra?
i have a quad cab hemi dodge ram right now but i’m thinking the new tundra is calling my name. any opinions/suggestions/complaints?

A: It is a very ugly looking truck but with all of the benefits that it has such as the power, mpg, acceleration, and reliability the lack of good design is a small price to pay. I really recommend that you scrap the ram and buy the Tundra. you will get everything that you want out of it and more and it will put your ram to shame in performance and power.

Q: what truck should i buy, a new toyota tundra or a new ford f150?
personally i would never buy a vehicle new but the company is buying it for me and i get my pick. I’ll be using it for everyday driving and towing mostly light loads. any suggestions?

A: Definitely the Ford F150.

Consider this about the Tundra. Open your favorite Internet search page. Search for “Tundra Rust”, without the quotes. You will see that the Tundra frame has severe rust problems. Enough to warrant a class action lawsuit.

Next use your favorite Internet search page and search for “Tundra Frame Flex”, without the quotes.

Personal experience. This is something that Steve Barr does not mention in the commercials. I have a friend who bought a new Tundra to pull a fifth wheel travel trailer. This truck was factory rated to pull his trailer and the truck was not overloaded. After the first couple of camping trips he noticed his truck pulled to one side. The brought it to the alignment shop. After another camping trip the truck started pulling to one side again. After further investigation he found that the frame was permanently bent from pulling his trailer. A whole new definition of “Not a happy camper”.

You could not give me a Tundra.

Q: what is the name of the new toyota tundra due out late summer?
it will have a glass top and built in genarator, also a built in air compressor.the running boards will lift up and down and a hidden tool box in the bed.and last but not least the interior dosn’t look like a truck

A: Toyota Tundra 07

Q: the new toyota tundra towing capabilites?
I was thinking about looking into getting a one of the new toyota tundras I was wondering if any one knows aobut the true towing capabilitie? I would want to use the car to tow 2 vehicles so your looking at like 11k pounds I’ve heard they can tow 10k any one know about 11k or 12k pounds?

A: Get the Dodge Ram with a Cummins engine,I had a 2001 go over 400,000 miles pulling 10,000-13,000lb campers with no trouble. With that amount of weight a gas engine won’t last long and will burn a lot of gas,I was getting 14mpg average going 70mph on the highway with a 11,000 camper.

Q: Does anybody know when is the new Toyota Tundra 2007 4×4 coming to the market?
I want to buy this model with the shift in the middle of the 2 seats, not in the steering.
Also does anybody know about how much would it be?

A: The 2007 Toyota Tundra will be available in February of 2007. The initial launch date of January has been delayed by 1 month.

http://www.autonorth.ca/home/2006/8/15/toyota-tundra-launch-delayed-by-one-month.html

Q: Should I buy a new Toyota Tundra or a new Ford Mustang GT?
I currently have an suv and can’t decide if I should get a new truck or a muscle car. After a lot of shopping, my monthly payment will be about the same for the $$. I am a mass commuter, not married or have children. I love the Mustang GT but also have to consider inclement weather during the winter. Please help me!!!

A: Neither of these vehicles is very good for a mass commuter.

The Mustang is highly impractical for the winter unless you are going with the 2010 Mustang GT, in which Ford FINALLY makes Electronic Stability Control standard.

The Tundra’s gas mileage is terrible. Unless you are doing construction or are always in need of a lot of cab room, then you don’t need it.

Have you considered a vehicle like the Subaru WRX or the MazdaSpeed 3? Both have turbocharged engines to match the power of the Mustang GT, but are much better in the snow.

The WRX is AWD and gets 25 mpg highway on premium fuel. It also comes in a hatchback or sedan.

The MazdaSpeed is a hatchback that is FWD, gets 26 mpg highway on premium fuel and comes with Electronic Stability control, standard.

Both cars start under $25K

Q: Is the new Toyota Tundra a good car?
My dad is thinking about getting one.

A: no…its a good TRUCK!

Q: Why does the new Toyota Tundra look just like a Dodge Ram? Can’t Japan produce ANYTHING original?
Does Japan ever INVENT anything? Why is it that all they seem to do is rip off other designs and capitalize on the ingenuity of others?

A: they make some original cartoons and voice delayed movies as well …. Please Note… with Toyota jumping into the big truck market… they actually surpassed GM ,overall , with product average gas guzzling consumption … and their truck is awfull

Q: who is the actor who does the voice overs for the new toyota tundra commercials?

A: IMDB.com always has the answer

Q: Why does the new toyota tundra have to be out of my price range?

A: uh…there are many other trucks and SUV’s that are affordable that would suit your taste…maybe you just have to work your way up to it until you can afford it. Best wishes

Q: Have you heard anything about the new 2007 Toyota Tundra Diesels?
I heard there might be a diesel engine being offered in the new style 2007 Toyota Tundra. Do you know anything about these? Like when will they be offered? What the gas mileage will be? Any information would be great! I also heard there might be a diesel engine in the Tacomas as well…is that true?

A: I have a friend at the Toyota plant in San Antonio where there building the Toyota Trucks.

He says that their building a 3/4 ton truck with an in line 6 cyl diesel to compete with the ford 4 door crew cab

BYE BYE FORD

Q: Are the new Toyota Tundra’s just hype?
I am thinking about buying a tundra or tocoma truck. I am also thinking about the new hybrids too. Does anybody have any input or personal experience owning any of these models?

A: i have worked on all of them. the Tundra is the real deal. the commercials are real. Toyota has done its research. both the Tundra and the Tacoma are more than capable trucks. the crew cab tundra Texas edition the king, more power towing leg room and an engine that may never quit, it may just last forever. as far a Hybrids go Toyota is quickly surpassing Honda but not just yet. the Prius is OK as hybrids go very reliable and great on fuel. if you really want a hybrid check out Lexus, they are taking it to a hole new level with some in the 400 horse power range. happy shopping

Q: In what month will the new Toyota Tundra be in dealerships?

A: toyota sad it will arrive in early 2007.

Q: Are the new toyota tundra commercials real?
We are trying to figure out, if toyota has real drivers, in the dramatic new commercials they have. We really like the commercials but are wondering if they are real. I mean a truck stopping right before going off a cliff, or stopping so fast pulling 10,000 pounds….what do you think? I think they are real, but my hunny doesn’t think toyota would but peoples life at danger like that.

A: That commercial is probably real… although I imagine it’s slightly digitally enhanced for TV… now the commercials for the other Toyota truck… the Tacoma… I doubt the Lochness Monster has a beef with the car maker and I don’t think any vehicle…. not even an armored tank would survive a direct hit by a shooting comet !

Q: Can you fit subwoofers under the back seat in a double cab toyota tundra (new body style)?

A: try mtx. they make loaded and amplified enclosures to fit perfectly usually under the seat or somewhere else.

Q: Questions about New Dodge charger>>Exaust and splash guards?
Are the factory splash guards worth buying for the charger?

What’s the best exaust for a 3.5 V6? I don’t want anything too loud, just a little rumble to it

A: look on this web site for a real good bolt on exhaust systems for that one and yes the factory splash guards are worth buying they out last the after market ones ,good luck. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/

Q: How hard is it to change the oil in a new dodge charger?
I’m used to the 80’s model chevy trucks, is it easy enough to do it on my own or do I have to take it somewhere?

A: You have to remove a shield which is called a “belly pan” it is plastic and held on by 4 (10mm) bolts once removed you can remove drain plug (13mm head) and remove filter.

dodge chrysler jeep tech

Q: Is the new Dodge Charger a reliable one?
I know its a Dodge so it doesnt say much but its so beautiful.. is there anything good to be said about the gas or reliability?

A: I got the Hemi in mine, and I have owned it for about 1 year now. This car has beyond exceeded my expectations. Its power, handling and comfort is incredible. It is a luxury hot rod! Don’t bother to get it without the Hemi, or you are only gonna get 1/3 of a Charger. Its exciting, hot, fun, head turning and a great great buy for the money. I will put a new exhaust -cat back-on it soon to get more of a rumble. Check out the SRT-8 if you want real power! Highway mileage about 22mpg. I think the computer shuts 4 cylinders off on highway. Its all Mercedes engineering with the esp system.

Q: Does anyone know what the font is that is used on the new Dodge Charger stickers?
I need to reproduce the stickers that go on the bottom of the vehicle and the one on the top of the rear fender. I am just trying to find the typeface used or something similar to it. Can someone help?

A: it is listed in the following site

www.cooltext.com

i think it is under brands

Q: What do you think of the new Dodge Charger?
I have never cared for Dodges but, I love this model.
Yes, it comes with a hemi. There is a bright yellow one not too far from my home that I plan on test driving Saturday. I am anxious to see how it drives but, the word Dodge still scares me. This is not to offend any Dodge lovers. I am just not educated enough about Dodges. Anything I need to know, good or bad?

A: I could do without the 4 doors but i like it very much. The new 2 door Challenger coming out is what will be parked in my driveway.

Q: I currently have a sturdy 2004 Honda Element. I want to get a new Dodge Charger. Is this a good idea?
Most of my friends do not think its a good idea. The price difference is negligible. Most say the Honda will give me less trouble in the long run. Others say Dodge is a poor quality car. This is from people who fix cars and work in dealerships.

A: Honda is a good quality automobile, dodge?
You are going to loose fuel mileage going from Honda to Dodge.(BIG TIME!)
Think down the road, the resale of the Honda is going to be a lot better than the Dodge.
If the Dodge dealers are the ones telling you not to do the trade then what does that tell you!
Your friends are pretty smart! I went from a Honda to a Chrysler and I regret it!!!!
Keep the Honda.(even though I think the element is not very pleasing to the eye!)

Q: whats the difference between a the new Dodge Charger SRT and an RT?
I think theyre both hemis.

A: The differences between the SRT vs R/T

SRT8
6.1L Hemi – 425HP and does not have MDS
Only comes in RWD version…..AWD not available option
Brembo Brakes
20 inch SRT rims
upgraded leather seats
ram air hood
HID headlights

R/T depends on which R/T package you get, you can get AWD or RWD versions, all come with 18 inch rims

The R/T version will have the 5.7L MDS hemi with 340 HP

The R/T Daytona with the 5.7L MDS hemi will have 350HP with limited production numbers and limited colors by year as well it will have the flat black Hemi decal on the hood.

Q: Do the new dodge charger and challenger look alike?
My cousin thinks they do but i disagree and want to show him that they dont.

A: Since you have internet access, just go to dodge.com and show him.
While the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger are closely related under the covers none of them look a like to me.

Q: What is the song used with the new dodge charger commercial?
its the newest one

A: Smoke on the Water, by Deep Purple.

Tells the story of a Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention concert, and the really cool smoke effect they had there.

Q: What do you hate most about the new Dodge Charger?
I hate the rear design, it looks like a Japanese or a Korean car

A: price. the original charger was meant to be a cheap fun car that pretty much anyone could afford and go play. oh yeah, and the 4 doors. i have nothing against 4 doors, just not on a charger. that ranks up there with them putting the daytona name and that silly spoiler on the trucks. just wrong!

Q: Who likes the look of the new dodge charger ?
u cant be serious >.<
I think ok is still too good. The 69 charger is still being payed in top dollars the 2008 charger looks like the corpse of a 69 charger bloated and disfigured after lying in the river too long.

A: Oh yeah.

Q: how much will full coverage cost on a new dodge charger?
i am 20 , and the car is a 4 door and has 425 horses.

A: I just replied to a similar question, basically see this
http://4ym8.com/CompareInsurance.html it’s one form to get a number of quotes from different insurers. It’s free and a big time saver, these are all the main American insurers competing to get your business so you are bound to find something that suits you, if it works out remember my points please

Q: Which car is more reliable and better on gas? A nissan 1991 300zx or a new Dodge charger.?
My friends keep telling me that if I got the nissan 1991 300 zx, the cops would be pulling me over alot. I just want a car that has a comfortable inside and will not draw the cops attention and also be reliable.

A: Only way to draw a cops attention is with speeding and wreckless driving. Comfort you have to go with Charger, just because its new. Realiable, its hard to say for the Charger because its new. Now I have a 93 TT 300zx and its very reliable. I did to a rebuild a while back, but wasn’t because of any issues, just because of age. Nissan are very reliable, and I’m sure John P can attest to that. Anyway both cares rock but I’m more Nissan friendly.

Q: What is the real Gas mileage of New Dodge Charger R/T with Multiple Displacement System??
I want to know if anyone own a New Dodge Charger R/T and What is the real gas mileage of New Hemi with MDS???

A: 22 miles per gallon while in displacement mode around 12 without

Q: Does the dodge intrepid have the same frame configuration as a the new dodge charger.?
if not what rear wheel drive cars have the same platform as the intrepid.

A: none of them, do the interpid was built on its own platform and no other car that has rear wheel drive will work with it,good luck.

Q: About modifications to the new Dodge Challenger?
Hello, if I buy the new Challenger, the high end one producing in the low 400’s horsepower,

and i add long tube headers, a good after market exhaust, and a good cold air intake

how much horsepower and I looking at?

A: if your lucky enough to get a new challenger i wouldn’t make many changes to it for a while, your warranty will be no good at all if you modify it,and the warranty is an important thing to have, good luck.

Q: What do you think of the new Dodge Challenger vs the Old 70’s one?
So now that the new Challengers are out ( Yes I have see and even touched one) What would you rate them compared to the 70’s challengers?

A: I had a chance to see likely 30 or so at the Chrysler’s at Carlisle show this year

I did not drive one

I will say every one with the orange paint had (what seemed to be) a really horrid paint job – they had grey, black red, blue, and silver and they looked fab (esp the black)

I do agree that they are overweight – I would have liked to seen one offered without the following items – Air, Power steering, radio, all the electronic do-dads

This will not stop me from buying one

I would not compare them to the 70’s challengers – they are really different cars

Q: Why is the new Dodge Challenger more expensive than the new Camaro?
Hello, why is the SRT8 close to 40,000 dollars and the Camaro SS close to 30,000 dollars. They both reach the 400 something horsepower range with tons of torque and two great engines.

Why the 10,000 dollar difference.

A: because the 370z is cheaper and better

Q: How is the parking brake engaged in the new Dodge Challenger?
I was looking at some photos of it and it looks as if it’s by a little foot pedal, rather than a center console lever. I’ve never been a fan of the pedal kind.

A: Just push down with your foot to engage and push again on it to release it.

Q: Way to get the New Dodge Challenger Really Cheap?
I hope gas prices go to $6 a gallon. My reasoning is that most people are concerned with gas prices and won’t buy a car that gets poor gas mileage. This makes it better for me for two reasons: 1.) Gas mileage & gas prices are never factors for me when buying a muscle car, and 2.) I wouldn’t be using it as a daily driver anyway.

A: i hope your wrong on the gas prices i doubt that many people will buy the new challenger as an every day driver anyway, but it does like gas according to the spec sheet on it,it would make a nice week end cruiser though, but i wouldn’t wish 6 dollar a gallon gas prices on anyone right now, their high enough the way it is,i wouldn’t pay the asking price for one anyway, there will be used ones around in a few years for sale, their always is in any make of car,id by one then, right now buying one doesn’t seem logical, good luck.

Q: is the new dodge challenger supposed to take after the 70s challengers?
cause if so, i’m going to change the logos to charger logos, and put general lee decals on mine.

A: The General Lee (That noun is capitalized, son) was a Charger (about 256 of them, mostly 1968’s). Some folks are confused because the new Charger is a 4 door.

The new Challenger maintains a high degree of fidelity to the old Challenger lines, but is bigger. The similarity is strong enough that I have had several old Challenger owners ask if mine (2009) was a restored one from the 70’s.

It is your car, do what you want…but the General Lee was a Charger, here ya go, take your hat off when this plays!:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSeUTfZk2ic

Q: Anyone recommend a new Dodge Challenger?
I was always a Mustang fan, but the new redesign does nothing for me. Can anyone tell me how the new Dodge Challenger rides, and if they would recommenced it? Any other perks? Not necessarily looking into the speed or racing aspect.
not interested in camaros ..

A: Absolutely do not listen to Mike. His opinions are HORRIBLE and unfounded. I’ve driven LX platform (Challenger/Charger/300) cars for nearly five years now, and they ride very very smooth. The Challenger has the best exterior looks, a decent interior (not great, or even good), can come with lots of options, and has great power if you get a Hemi (the V6 is underpowered – 2011 will be a much better year for the V6).

The redesigned LX platform will be much better with the 2011 model year coming around the end of the year. Still a great car, but be careful not to overpay for a 2008-2010 Challenger w/ 2011 around the corner.

Q: How much would a monthly payment on a new dodge challenger cost?
Just a rough estimate of what you think…the car cost $30,000…

A: depends on a number of factors, credit score, vehicle cost, interest rates and terms, money down, trade ins, etc, a nice challenger r/t with a 372 hp 5.7L HEMI would probably run about $600-$650 ish. You definitely want an RT so you can get the Lifetime warranty on the powertrain (not available on SRT8).

Q: What do you guys think about the new Dodge Challenger?
I’m not a big fan of musclecars, but this one is half muscle and half exotic to me… if I had the cash, I would buy it in about 5 seconds.

A: Love it, mopar or nocar.

Q: Will the new Dodge Challenger come in convertible?
I hope it does. A six speed would be cool too.

A: not sure dude…..that would be cool though…….those things look bad fast……

Q: What do you think of the new Dodge Challenger?
I saw plenty of pictures of it online but when I finally saw it up close I really did not like it that much. While I wouldn’t say it’s ugly I would say it looks a little bloated, especially the non SRT8 versions. I like the whole retro thing but I think the mustang and the upcoming Camaro combine retro and modern better. Do you agree why or why not?

A: I think they got caught with their gas-price pants down. Chrysler has always been known for being big, expensive and gas guzzling.

However, in all honesty if you are going to buy it, as the cliche goes, now is a great time to buy. Literally, I mean it’s a great time to BUY OUTRIGHT…for $20,000 cash…because nobody has credit, not even the dealers. Just wave a stack of hundred dollar bills in the dealers face and he might lower it another couple thousand…or show it to him just before you walk out the door after he turns down your offier.

Q: Will the new Dodge Challenger come in covertible?
If anyone has heard anything, please let us know! Thanks!

A: according to what I’ve read on various sites the answer is no. They originally planned don it but i believe money is an issue. There will be a convert able challenger at the SEMA show this year though.

Q: The new dodge Challenger.Well what about a new Cuda as in Plymouth Barracuda?
The new Dodge charger is supposed to be coming out in 2008 .So why don,t they bring out a Cuda as in plymouth barracuda? ,which was based on the same platform of the E- bodied dodge Challenger of the early 70s.
in the fist part of this question ,I meant Challenger not Charger …..Doh!!!

A: Looks like all those rumors about Chrysler reviving the ‘Cuda (Barracuda) nameplate were true after all.

A series of scoop pictures were taken from the SEMA showroom in Las Vegas today giving us a sneak peak of what Chrysler has in store for us tomorrow morning.

For the time being however, there’s no info whatsoever on the new ‘Cuda but it’s obvious that the concept is based on the 2009 Dodge Challenger and that it’s wearing a Dodge Charger interior

Q: How much will the new dodge challenger cost?

A: Two chickens and a donkey.

Q: Does anyone have a new Dodge Challenger?
How do you like it? What is the good and bad?

A: Good friend of mine got his about a month or two ago and absolutely loves it. Then again he only drives high horsepower v8’s. I would buy the 6-speed SRT myself, but I’ve all ready got a Charger. I’d say the bad part is you’ll end up wanting to spend more money on upgrades, but otherwise they’re reliable cars and the only problem I’ve had with my charger (basically the same car with 4 doors) was the interior fan started to squeal so I had it replaced at 30,000 miles.

Q: i just got a new hyundai elantra 08 and im looking for ways to make it look hot.?
Trying to find out how to make this car stick out beyond all others so when people see it they know its my car. I wanna redesign the interoir of the vechile to. anyone help me on some ideas or referr me to a good website please.

A: Do a goggle search for Elantra forums or Hyundai Forums.
If you want it to stand out, change the rims – don’t go over 18″, they wont look good and no chrome(get something in between luxury and sporty). Maybe a body kit, but i don’t think that’s a good idea. A nice spoiler would look good. Definitely tints, but the check the law in your town, they might be illegal.
I don’t think working on the engine would do anything, you wont get much power from it. You could buy a intake or headers but you won’t notice any gain.. waste of money
The interior.. some seat covers maybe, a navigation system for sure… i can’t think of anything else..
if you want to be a little tacky.. change the gages face and the interior lighting to a different color.
Good luck

Q: Is the new Hyundai Elantra a good car?
It seems with the price and features that it’s a great buy, but is it a good car to own for the long term? Any better alternatives for the money?

A: Top 5 Cars in the small sedan class as ranked by Consumer Reports.
1. Hyundai Elantra
2. Honda Civic
3. Toyota Corolla
4. Mazda 3
5. Ford Focus
So, those are your alternatives in order, I don’t think any are better for the money, you can’t beat the value of a Hyundai especially over the long term. Longer warranty, lower initial cost, then the others on the list, plus JD Power ranked Hyundai #1 in initial quality for non-luxury brand for the 2nd time in 3 years.

http://www.hyundaiusa.com

Q: Is the new Hyundai Elantra a good car? Why or why not?
I am wanting to buy a new car priced under $16,000 any recommendations?

A: If you are in the US, you can really get a great deal on a 2008 Toyota Corolla right now. The 2009’s are out this week and Toyota is trying to get rid of the 2008’s.
The CE model, with Automatic will run you about $15,000.

The Elantra is decent. It has 8 airbags, tested well, has a good warranty, and is good for basic transportation.
However, I think the Corolla is a better ride, more reliable, and will hold it’s value better over the years.

Good luck.

Q: New Hyundai Elantra or Used 2007 GLS Hyundai Sonata?
I think I would be able to get them around the same price. Which one is better.

A: I always lean toward new cars but the Sonata does have some advantages. As roomy as the Elantra is the Sonata is bigger so it will have more room. The Sonata has standard traction and stability control which are options on the Elantra plus it has more HP then Elantra. You would think the smaller Elantra would have better fuel efficiency but the engine in the Sonata is more advanced so the numbers aren’t very far off, 25/33 for the Elantra, 22/32 for the Sonata.
Warranty plays a part too. New Hyundai’s have 10yr/100k but a used one, if it isn’t “certified”, will only have the balance of the bumper to bumper 5yr/60k. A certified used Hyundai will give you the balance of 10yrs/100k.
IMO a new Elantra “SE” (higher trim) would be a better pick because it’s closer to the Sonata in terms of equipment. A “certified” used Sonata would be better pick over a new Elantra “GLS” (lower trim) for the same equipment reasons.

Keep in mind a NEW “2008″ Sonata has a $3000 cash back offer going on now. With a little haggling you may get a new one for not much more over a used 2007

Q: What is the best way to get a good deal on a new Hyundai Elantra. (no government auctions please)?

A: Try out carsdirect.com

They have some of the best prices I’ve seen and they will connect you to a local dealer that will honor the online price you were quoted. I bought my Toyota thru them and was very happy with the price, which beat everywhere else we had checked.

Q: new hyundai elantra or one year old elantra and loose powertrain warranty, but still retain remainder of 5/60 ?
I’d be paying considerably less for a used(2007) model with around 20 k on it.

A: If you are not the original owner, the powertrain goes back to match the bumper to bumper warranty.

For example -
New Hyundai = 10 year, 100K powertrain and 5 year, 60K bumper to bumper.
Used Hyundai = 5 year, 60K powertrain and bumper to bumper warranty.

Q: What is the name of the song playing on the new Hyundai Elantra commercial?
its a red car with people cropped in these window boxes floating around

A: Just saw the ad tonight-the song is “All Time Lows” by the band Hellogoodbye off their album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! You can get a free download on the Hyundai website and also view the bands’ MySpace ad. It’s a catchy song, huh?

Q: Should we buy a certified used Honda Civic LX with 7800 miles on it for $11,000 or a new Hyundai Elantra?
The Elantra would be about $14000 plus tax.
The Honda is a 2004

A: get the elantra , its new and have waranty , thats about $ 60 more a month if u finance plus and civic is 5 years old , the techonolgy is a lot older than the current one not that hyundai is a leader in anything but their powertrain warranty is awesome

Q: My new Hyundai Elantra has side airbags. I think they come out of the seat. Can I put covers over the seats?

A: Yes you can. This compnay makes special seat covers for vehicles with side airbags built into the seats.

http://www.seatcoversdirect.com/

Q: Hyundai Elantra for new teen driver? Good or Bad?
I was considering purchasing a new 2009 Hyundai Elantra for my son. I have heard that Hyundai is one of the more safer car manufactures and its also affordable. I would like any input on this subject and if you recommend a different car that would also be apprecieated.
Thankyou

A: Yes, Hyundai’s come with all of the latest safety features like ABS, Airbags, Traction Control, Stability Control, Structural Integrity body framing.
Hyundai is currently offering $2000 cash rebate on Elantra GLS/SE models, so I’m sure you can get a great deal on a 2009 model.
http://www.hyundaiusa.com/financing/specialoffers/special_offers.aspx
The Elantra is also the top small sedan as chosen by Consumer Reports, chosen over the Corolla and Civic so it’s a winner.

Q: was it safe for me to have bought a brand new 2009 Hyundai Elantra (Cash4clunkers)?
for example would it surpass the 100,000 miles with ease, or do they still have problems?

A: You have purchased a top quality automobile. In fact, the 09 Elantra won the JD Power and Associates Initial Quality Award and is also Consumer Reports #1 rated small car.

The Elantra is a great car, you will not be sorry.

Q: to replace a transmission in a 2002 hyundai elantra does the new transmission have to come from another elantr?
does it have to be from another 2002 elantra specifically or can it come from another type of car?

A: I don’t know that, but do know that Mitsu supplies some of the trannies to hyundai/Kia.

Q: I am looking to buy a new hyundai elantra. Does anyone know if the “100 k mile/10 year warranty really works?

A: A warranty is a legal contract, so it can be enforced in a court of law if needed.

It will spell out what is covered, if it is not listed, it is not covered. A 10 year 100,000 mile power train warranty is a good thing, if the car is something you like and fits your needs!

Q: I purchased a Hyundai Elantra SE 2008 recently brand new from a Hyundai Dealer?
named Bowers-Hyundai, 139 McKinley Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
Anyone had any experience with this dealership. Also, what does the
bumper to bumper warranty cover and not cover? This is the first new
car I ever purchased from a dealer and the first time, I bought a Hyundai.

A: Not sure why you are asking for dealer experiences after you just bought a car there. Why don’t you share your experiences with everyone else on the dealer review section at www.edmunds.com?

The bumper-to-bumper will cover basically everything that is not considered ‘wear and tear’ items.
These items include brakes, tires, etc.
You should have received a warranty book along with your owners manual that explains everything. If you did not, ask the dealer for one.

Be sure to carefully follow the recommended service schedule located in your owners manual. If you do not follow this, then a Hyundai could argue that you were negligible in servicing the vehicle, which could void your warranty.

Q: i dont have the best of credit but i want to buy a new hyundai elantra…is 500 dollars a decent down payment?

A: Congratulations SNOW – on some of the most ill-informed, worst advice I have ever seen in this forum…

If your score is below 500, I would recommend getting a pre-approval. Your best bet is on a new car with some strong rebates. I am not sure what Hyundai’s incentives are right now, but www.edmunds.com will have that information. The rebate gets applied to the loan in the form of down payment.

Contrary to what Snow says, ANY down payment helps – the more the better. Finance companies want the loan to be as close to the actual value of the car as possible. So any cash you have to help bring that in line helps. It also helps because you have some investment in the car. You are taking some risk other than a credit risk, and that helps as well.

Banks will loan on ANY new car. They do not care if it is a Bentley or a Hyundai. In fact, Hyundai Motor Credit has some very good rates right now. OF course, you may not qualify for them with your score, but that is what the pre-qualification is all about.

You may also want to try capital one, lending tree, or e-loan. Don’t fill out applications on ALL the sites because inquiries will bring your score a little lower. But pick one and try to get your financing arranged ahead of time.

Snow is partially right that paying cash is not an incentive to a dealer. However, that is really not a consideration right now. BUT, dealers don’t make all that interest they charge you either. If I write a 12% loan, that interest is going to the bank, not to my dealer. Dealerships do make money on financing though. Depending on the state, that amount is regulated. In my state (NV) we are capped at no more than 2% on the loan rate. So while the incentive is there, it is not as much as some would have you believe.

I would recommend also going through Hyundai’s web site. You will have to submit an inquiry through them. But doing that gets you on the radar for the internet representatives at every dealership near you. Let them work and compete for your business. Y ou will get a good price, and know exactly where you stand before you ever darken their door.

Cheers and Good Luck!

EDIT – god help any dealer that would put snow in the F&I box. Especially if she is not familliar with this settlement, eventually enacted by most finance companies

The current limits, which will be maintained under the terms of the settlement, are 2.5 percent on contracts with terms up to 60 months and 2 percent on contracts with terms of 61 to 72 months. There will be a new 1.5 percent limit on any contracts with terms of 73 months or longer. Standard contracts are for 72 months or less.

Learn more about new Kia Forte at your automotive destination eGmCarTech.com

Q: Just bought a new kia forte koup?
I got the new kia forte koup and was pressured into buying the automatic. I really really really wanted a stick shift car and now im pissed with the automatic. Is there absolutely anything I can do? I have had the car less then a week and I really would prefer stick.

A: Trade it in at a several thousand dollar loss or deal with it. The smart person would just deal with it now that you own the car.

Q: What are your thoughts on the new KIA Forte sedan and coupe?

A: There are a lot of opinions out there based on misinformation or obsolete information unfortunately.

Sticking to the facts. It has a 10year/100k mile warranty, best in class fuel mileage, more features for less money, and a 5 star safety rating. The new chief designer for Kia is former Audi designer Peter Schreyer, which speaks a lot for the car.

As mentioned in an earlier answer, the car has been reviewed quite well. So here is what the pros have to say in a couple more good in depth reviews:

Autoblog:

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/16/first-drive-2010-kia-forte-a-compelling-new-compact-sedan-optio/

Motortrend:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0902_2010_kia_forte_look/index.html

The Koup will be launched August 20th BTW and there are a number of equally good reviews out on it as well.

Q: Doesn’t the front end of the new Kia Forte look exactly like a Honda Civic?
why would Kia copy and paste the entire front end?

http://www.kia.com/#/forte-koup/explore/

A: Yea it does look like a Civic,
But i have driven both cars and the Forte is MUCH BETTER.
You have to see it for yourself, check out the Forte Koup

Q: What is your opinion of the new KIA FORTE?
This car looks hot! 4 door or 2 door Koup, this car looks like a winner. It is thousands less than the competition, has a MUCH longer warranty, 5 years 60,000 miles bumper to bumper, and comes with much more standard equipment (blue tooth, sirius radio, etc) AND has more standard horsepower than anything in its class. The EX with gas mileage package gets 37mpg highway…..I am very impressed!
Honda and Toyota has had many problems/recalls in recent years…sludge buildup in the V-6 engines, recalls for Honda…and Hyundai and Kia keep winning quality awards J.D Power and associates and many more. I dont think the old stereotypes apply anymore. Jap isnt always better. Even Car and driver and Motor trend are admitting there is little quality difference. Time to rethink perhaps?
FYI: the 2009 compact car that received the highest rating for quality, 5 stars in every category, is the Korean made Hyudai Elantra, from JD Power and Associates. It beat out Honda, Toyota, Mazda, etc….Time to not rely on old stereotypes anymore people.
(Spike) The Kia Forte Koup does 0-60 in 7.1 seconds according to Motor Trend. It is the sporty version of the Forte.

A: Although many people still have the early millenium mind-set about Kia/Hyundai, they really have become excellent cars. After 2005, almost all Kia’s have obtained very good reliability rating according to Consumer Auto Guide, Edmunds, KBB, and Consumer Reports. I am fully confident that if I were in the market for a new car, I would go to Hyundai or Kia first! Show some respect to the company that’s breaking social rules in the auto market!

Q: Does Kia have a good reputation in Canada?
I am thinking about buying a new Kia Forte, looks nice and affordable. How is Kia’s reputation here in Canada?

A: I would HIGHLY advise against purchasing a Kia…ANYWHERE. Kia and Hyundai are both inexpensive vehicles and you get what you pay for. While some of their designs are nice, I can assure you, they are a pain. Many parts, even simple ones, must come from Kia, so plan on forking over a lot of cash to purchase parts. (example: 1998 Kia Sportage, coil springs must come from Kia, They cost about $100 EACH. Many vehicles you can buy them in a pair aftermarket for less than $150) Many times you have to wait for the parts to be freighted in from a warehouse as well, meaning that your car is tied up for longer, too. From my personal experience, I would find another car you like. If you’re looking for reliable, Toyota, by far, leads the pack. Hondas and Nissans tend to be trustworthy. Every car has its issues, but I will tell you, Kia and Hyundai are my shops #1 most dreaded repairs.

Q: Why don’t the Kia dealerships in my area have the Forte?
There are several Kia dealerships in a 30 mile radius of me (4-5) and I live in a very busy, big city. How come only one of the dealerships has the new Forte (and only 3 of them on top that)? Is it not fully released yet?

A: The Forte is new for 2010, and most automakers haven’t released them yet, with few exceptions. My guess would be this fall.

Q: Kia Forte, honda civic, ford focus, scion?
I am getting a new car. Either, the 2010 Kia Forte Koup, 2010 Ford Focus, 2010 Scion tc, or a 2008 honda civic. (I don’t really like the 2010 models of civics.) Which one would be best and why? (I don’t have kids, I’m 18, and female. I want a white automatic. If you need anymore details please ask. (:

A: I would go strictly for quality, to minimize repairs that can be expensive and burdensome.

Here are the 2010 Auto Reliability GPAs of the vehicles that you listed, in descending of reliability:

Honda Civic Sedan: 3.75 over a 10-year data history
Toyota’s Scion tC: 3.36 over a 5-year data history
Ford Focus Sedan: 2.38 over a 10-year data history

The Kia Forte does not have a 2010 Auto Reliability GPA; however, the overall 2010 Auto Reliability for the Kia line is 1.93.

For comparison, here are overall 2010 Auto Reliability GPAs for several lines, in descending order:

Honda: 3.67 (an A)
Scion: 3.56 (a low A)
Toyota: 3.53 (a low A)
Acura: 3.38 (a B)
Subaru: 2.61 (a low B)
Mazda: 2.28 (a C)
Ford: 2.17 (a C)
Volkswagen: 1.58 (a low C)
Chevrolet: 1.37 (a D)
Chrysler: 1.04 (a D)
Dodge: 0.97 (a D).

So, of the four, I would purchase the Honda Civic. However, you may wish to give consideration to some additional vehicles.

Other high-reliability cars that are fuel efficient and attractive to many are:

The Toyota Prius (the hybrid), with a 2010 Car Reliability GPA of a perfect 4.00 over a CR 3-year data history,
The Toyota Yaris Hatchback, with a 2010 Car Reliability GPA of a perfect 4.00 over a 3-year data history,
The Toyota Corolla, with a 2010 Car Reliability GPA of 3.81 over a 10-year data history,
The Honda Fit (a hatchback), with a 2010 Car Reliability GPA of a perfect 4.00 over a 3-year data history.

Q: I’m getting a new car and don’t know which car to get… any recommendations?
I was going to get the new kia forte koup but then I saw a lotus elise in a video game and was curious how much it cost… I always thought it was like 500k… turns out I was way off. So do you think I could get a Lotus Elsie for under 20k? if so what year? if you have another recommendation please tell me.

Thanks

A: I would stay away from KIA although some say they have improved a lot since their Hyundai days but ???
Depending on your needs I would suggest the Honda Civic or Accord.
I’ve had both traded my 1998 Civic for 2009 Accord and still got $2000 for the Civic in trade.
Go check them out – real good value for the money.
Happy Motoring.

Q: Which is more reliable the Chevy Cobalt or the Kia Forte?
Im looking to buy one of them new, i know they are both less reliable than a honda or toyota but between the two which one is better and please don’t say that one is shit if really you don’t have a clue

A: Kia Forte looks very good. Even though it looks like Honda Civic.
Its faster and better on gas than Cobalt.
More importantly, its more reliable.

Q: Should I buy a Kia Forte Koupe SX?
I’ve been in the new car market for over a year. I’m looking for a sporty car and have test driven everything from G37s, IS250s, Accords, Altimas, etc. For some reason the look, features, feel, warranty and price of the Forte Koupe has me hooked. My only, literally only, hesitation is that its a Kia. I should I bite the bullet and go for it?
It would be a brand new car. Red. 6 speed manual…

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: which car should I get…2010 Ford Focus or a 2010 Kia Forte?
I’m getting a new car tomorrow and its between the 2010 Ford Focus and the 2010 Kia Forte…which one should I get?

also does anyone know what the difference is between the kia forte EX and kia forte SX?

A: Kia will last, trust me, my dad has an 02 Kia Rio that i beat on all the time, no problems with it at all really, the thing has like 140,xxx some miles. and Kia has been stepping their game up a lot.

Q: What is a cute car: Kia Forte Koup, Toyota Prius, Ford Edge, Chevy Volt.?
For a younger new girl driver. And color too:] Preferebly not white. kthankkssssss.

A: I think the Volt is just cute as the dickens.

Q: why is kia looked down upon?
my husband and i just bought a new kia and its really nice. the 2010 kia forte koup and we showed it to some people and they were like oooh.. its a kia.. i didn’t like the reaction because i think they make the car really nice.
I was wondering why kia is looked down upon

A: When Kia came to America, they were not very good. Now they’re getting better, no doubt due to their association with Hyundai, who has made great strides in the past 5 years or so.

But who cares what others think of your car? Your car is not you, and it’s no one’s right to judge how you go from Point A to Point B.

Q: 2010 Kia Forte….? Help?
I’m looking for a car to buy && I thought the 2010 Kia Forte looked nice. It was only $14,000 for a brand new one. I’ve been reading about them, but I tend to get a bit of both sides. I’ve read reviews about the fact the Kia Fortes are really good cars, but then again, people tell me that Kia’s are very unreliable. Is a 2010 Kia Forte worth looking at or am I wasting my time?

A: In response, your are not wasting your time. Kias have come a long way, and are producing a solid/reliable car. Additionally, they now have a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty, which should help with any concerns. As mentioned, Consumer Reports is a great source, but since the car is new there will be limited information. There are however quite a number of great professional reviews out on the Forte . Here are a couple:

Motortrend:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0909_2010_kia_forte_review/index.html

Autoblog:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0909_2010_kia_forte_review/index.html

Q: Kia forte koup; what you think?
Ok, so im thinking of getting a KIA car, just becuase there really cheap for cars that are brand new. Also they got good warranty, but i know people think there designs suck. But about this month there coming out with a kia forte koup, so WHAT DO OYU THINK??

http://jalopnik.com/5205341/2010-kia-forte-koup-you-stay-klassy-kia

A: Really nice looking car. Also, it is a really nice car. I travel between Korea and US about every other month for business and have had a chance to drive the Koup and I can say that Kia did a really great job with this vehicle (I own a Hyundai i30 in Korea and it is also a really nice car). Hyundai-Kia has come a long ways since the days of the Excel with much improved quality, durability, and reliability. In fact Hyundai-Kia is the second largest auto manufacturer in Asia just behind Toyota. As for the Koup being a really cheap car, I would double check on that because I think it is going to cost a little more than you think. It will be cheaper than comparable Japanese cars but it is not going to be super cheap.

Q: Is the new Dodge Grand Caravan good on gas??
I have a 2002 4×4 Durango that really sux the gas down, would the Grand Caravan be better? I am also in a wheelchair, so if there’s any wheelers out there, I’d like your review also, thanx

A: There are a lot of advantages to Braun’s conversion on the new Dodge Grand Caravans, and fuel efficiency is definitely one of them. By reusing the OEM fuel tank, charcoal canister and fuel filter, the 2008 Entervan is able to maintain the EPA fuel economy estimates, while producing less emissions than unconverted vehicles. I would strongly recommend contacting your local mobility shop and asking to see the new Dodge Grand Caravans. Getting out of the 2002 Durango is a good idea, given the gas prices right now.

Q: Which car the new town and country chrysler or the new dodge grand caravan?

A: psssttt….they are the same van. The difference is one has more luxury conveniences than the other. So its up to you what is necessary and what is excess

Q: Price for a new Dodge-Grand Caravan CD player/radio?
My dad bought a Dodge-Grand Caravan and it only has a radio, we want it to play CD’s too, someone told him to go to the Dodge website to find the price for the CD player, we want it to be new and not one of those that you have to take off the little screen because someone might steal it. I went to their website and i found some CD players but they don’t show the price, can anyone help me out please? Thanks.

A: i priced one for a 2008 model the other day for a customer and they wanted around 500 bucks for it,and we found one from a wrecked 08 model used from a salvage yard for 150,and it came with warranty on it,so id look around for a good used one first, unless you absolutely have to have a new one, a used one is a better bargain, good luck.

Q: How do You like your new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Flex Fuel?
I just bought one from Hollis at Dodge Country of Appleton, Wi., so far it seems fantastic, like driving a Mercedes in vans’ clothing.

A: i rode in one and it seemed to be alright i have to say the ride of it was a lot better than last years model,it did seem to be more responsive in power also, time will tell though ,i hope it doesn’t give some of the problems the other ones have, time will tell on this one, good luck and enjoy it,and happy thanksgiving.

Q: What is the best price i can get on a lease for a new 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan sxt?
I want to put 0 down color doesn’t matter. I live in NJ. What is the monthly cost of such a lease.

A: I have leased 3 different dodge products. The good thing is, with dodge they are always running great deals on leases, with reabates and everything. Right now the dodge grand caravan has a $4000 lease cash rebate, also if you have lease loyalty you get another $1000 rebate. I Live in Michigan so I know a lot of people who work for Chrysler, so I also get a Chrysler employee discount of $1000 off. If you know anyone who works for chrysler, you should get an EC # from them. On a lease, you pay the difference between the cost of the car, and the depreciated value over the lease term, which is calculated by Chrysler financial, who will actually be the owner of the car when you lease it, so its not too easy to negotiate the price. With all rebates, its easy to get a payment under $200. You best bet is to call a few dodge dealerships in your area and have them give you a price over the phone. Some places will have different prices based on the models they have on the lot as well as any other dealer rebates they might be offering on top of the manufactuer rebates. Dont let them tell you that you need to come in to get prices because that is BS. If they want your business then tell them that you need a price before you come in. I called 7 different dealers before I found the lowest price on my lease. I am currently in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, I put nothing down, and qualified for all rebates, and Im only paying $210 a month. Its just a matter of finding the dealer with the lowest price. Fortunately for you the grand caravans are less expensive, and have better deals as far as rebates, so if you are looking for a payment of under $200 you should easily be able to find a dealer with that price. Its just a matter of calling around, and getting prices. You can easily find dodge dealerships in you are at www.dodge.com Good luck

Q: What is the song that is on the new dodge grand caravan commercial?
It’s similar to the iphone song
it’s instrumental – not vocal

A: Is it an acoustic guitar playing?
cheers

Q: My 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan is sputtering. New fuel injector needed?
I have a 1998 Grand Caravan, 3.8 liter, 80,000 miles. A month ago my car started hesitating and sputtering. The sputtering got so bad that the car wouldn’t even accelerate when I gave it gas, acting like it was flooded with fuel. It even backfired a little and produced a heavy fuel smell inside and outside the car. The “Service Engine Soon” light came on and I took it to the mechanic so they could read the trouble code. The “engine code reader” said that there was a problem with the fuel injector in the fifth cylinder and that the fuel injector was misfiring. The mechanics first replaced the spark plugs and spark plug cables. A few days later tho, the “Service Engine” light came on again with the same trouble code. They replaced the fuel injector in the 5th cylinder and again we got the same trouble code: bad fuel injector in the 5th cylinder. They then replaced the ignition coil, but this did not solve the problem either. The mechanics are baffled. Can you help?

A: Mine did the same thing. It was the fuel filter which was located inside the fuel tank.

Q: Is the new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan a good competition against other Mini- Vans?

A: Hmmm, let’s see…. Chrysler/Dodge invented the darn things so the answer is yes! GM makes some nice ones and Ford gave up on them. Personally if I were to get one it would be from Chrysler.

Q: I am searching for a new Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 2006/ in Akron, Ohio preferably black in exterior color.?
All I keep coming up with is used older models of this vehicle.

A: I wish I could have been the first to help you, but I
find it is my place to answer second. Please use this
information, the tactics I use to find the answers for
you, to do what I could not do: find the answer.

Q: how much money in gas do i have to spend driving on a dodge grand caravan from new york city to miami florida?

A: $470 round trip

Had to guess on year of vehicle

Q: How much is fair to install a new door on 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan Drivers side door?
I bought a door for $79 from a salvage yard…..gotta laugh cause my van is blue and the darn door is red. But since I paid $200 for the van I wont complain. Needless to say I dont wanna pay lots to have the door put on. What would be a fair price and how do I determine if this door will need to be welded on?

A: It probably won’t need to be welded, hopefully the door matches the van (correct year/model, etc.).

You could probably get a few people together to hold the door, and just bolt the thing on. If it has power windows/door locks, you might have to unplug some stuff (or mark/cut the wires and reconnect them).

Otherwise, ask around and find a decent mechanic. Oh – and you can always get a rattle can and spray bomb the door (mask the window off of course). It might not look good, but its better to at least have it be the same basic color as the rest of the car.

I spray bombed an entire ‘84 mercury grand marquis once, just for the hell of it – it actually came out pretty decent!!

Q: do the new 2008 dodge grand caravan or 2008 chevy uplander have avalible all-wheel-deive?
are there any more minivans that might have it
drive

A: GM no longer makes a minivan. Neither does Ford. The Caravan and Town and Country do not have avail AWD for the 2008. If you must have it, I guess you buy an import(and that sucks) But with our Stow and Go seating and storage system, the AWD transaxle would not fit. The cars do have an electronic stability program that includes an advanced all speed traction control system. Check it out before you jump into a rice burner, please.

Sorry.

Q: 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan radio removal/ installation of new radio?
I am looking for a radio wiring diagram for the 2001 dodge grand caravan. I am trying to install a new sony cd/ipod radio and the wiring harnesses are much different. Can anyone help? Thanks

A: when you buy the radio you buy also an connector adapter for the particular car you are going to install the radio on, in this case an adapter for dodge caravan, one end goes to the new radio and the other to the connector in the caravan

Q: 2005 dodge grand caravan new bat. starter is ok, try to crank but nothing happens it want even turn over ?

A: battery connections – look at both ends of the cables.

cable and ground connection for starter motor – both ends.

starter solenoid.

check codes too.

Q: I have a 1996 dodge grand caravan with all new brakes and only work properly when the abs light comes on??????
when light is not on the brake peddal is really hard to push and i cant stop. new rotors, pads, shoes, drums.can not figure out why they only work with the abs light on

A: take it to a mechanic or be prepaired to face the consequences should they fail completly and you kill someone.
ps. do you also practice surgery?

Learn more about new Toyota Corolla at your automotive destination eGmCarTech.com

Q: How to get “deal” on a new Toyota Corolla?
What’s the newest “technique” for getting a good price on a new Toyota Corolla? Are the dealers giving deals on this model this summer? Do I have to pay the sticker price?

A: Tell the dealer up front that you are here to test drive. You may be coming on market in 3-4 weeks. That should ease off the pressure. If he found out you will buy today, he will drive you crazy.

Another thing, bring along your best poker face. If you like the car or are impressed by it, DO NOT SHOW. Poker face!!!! Start nit picking on the car. The Dealer’s point is to impress the heck out of you. Once you are impressed, you will glaze over the papers and sign for any exorbitant payment plan he wants.

Important thing. There is a lot of homework to be done before you set foot in the Dealership. Aside from determining Make Model & year, you also need to determine what options you must have and those that are nice to have. Hide the fact that you might be trading in (if you are). Also hide the fact that you may finance (If you are). Your goal is the get clear out the door price on the road with a break up of the same.

Always remember, no one pays the sticker price. Usually people pay varying amounts bellow that. Some could be paying 4K to 5K bellow as well. If you are not aware, each car has a Invoice Price which is the price Dealer paid to buy it from Manufacturer. Anything he can get over this value is his profit. Hence people try to get invoice price as far as possible. Remember this is the value before any Rebates are Deducted. Not After !!!

Here’s a list of resource I use.

Fighting Chance

http://www.fightingchance.com Their fee is $35 or so. Worth the money for a $15K car. I have personally used it. Will go back next time.

Q: Is Erica from the new Toyota Corolla commercial an actress?
My friend and I are having a dispute as to whether Erica from the Toyota Corolla commercial is an actress or if she is a real customer that Toyota genuinely surprised with a new car. We need a conclusive answer please.

A: A woman named Darla Scott said this: “My best friend is Erica Kelly, she truly was surprised that Toyota gave her a car. She went to a market research for some extra cash telling her story about how she used to own a Toyota and her goal was to buy another one. They loved her story so much they made a commercial. She is one of the most giving and deserving people I know. I was able to be apart of that experience and saw first hand how genuine the people of Toyota were and Erica during the filming process. Im more proud to be a toyota owner then ever before.”

So I would say, she is a real person!

Q: How much does a new Toyota Corolla cost?
I’m just looking for a rough number. If I just went to the dealership and paid cash for a new basic 2008 or 2009 Corolla. I’ve heard wide ranges from different people so I’m just trying to get a rough estimate, and I haven’t really been able to find anything online. I live in the New Hampshire / Massachusetts area if that makes any difference, but if you know the costs from anywhere that would be great. Thanks!

A: 2009 Toyota Corolla: around $15,000 for Base trim, $17,000 for the LE trim, $16,500 for S trim, $17,500 for XLE trim, and $19,000 for the sporty XRS trim.

The Base, LE, S, XLE have the 132hp 1.8L I4 DOHC engine. The XRS has the 158hp 2.4L I4 DOHC engine. 1.8L mpg 35hwy 26 city, XRS 30 hwy 22 city. Transmission options: 5 spd manuel or 4 spd auto. The Corolla is a great car!!

Q: How do I but a new Toyota Corolla for below the dealers invoice price?
My wife and I would like to purchase a new Toyots Corolla and I would like to know if anyone has any advice on how I can get the car for the cheapest price possible like below or WAY below the invoice price. We live in California.

We already know about the governments cash for clunkers program but our current cars do not qualify since they are newer with good gas mileage already. So this 4,500 dollar credit doesnt help us out at all.
Please help. Thanks.

A: Hi: Pretty simple.
Go see the dealer, get the price he is asking and cut $1500 bucks off.
There are a lot of incentives out there right now so the dealers are quite competitive.
Most dealers have about 5% they can move on a new car and still make some cash on it.
You can also get them to up the value of your trade in.
Don’t be afraid to walk away from the deal if they wont move on the price.
Once you start heading for the door you will be surprised how fast the new car manager comes out to see how he can help!

Good luck

russ

Q: What are the new Toyota Corolla headlight sizes?
I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla S. I wanted to know the sizes of the headlights, specifically the size of the low-beam, high-beam, and fogs.

A: Low beam and fog lights use a 9006 bulb, highbeams 9005.

Q: How much taxes I have to pay for a new Toyota Corolla?
I am planning to buy a new Toyotta Corolla. I was searching for prices online – it is about $17,000 without taxes. Does anybody know how much would a tax be (for Louisiana)? This is my first car in the US.

A: It varies based upon your address. The LA state tax rate is 4% but local rates run as much as 5.5% making the total tax as high as 9.5%.

Q: Should I buy a used Toyota Avalon or a new Toyota Corolla?
The Toyota Avalon: 2008, 53,000 km, nav. everything. Price: 33,000$

New Toyota Corolla: LE edition, smart key, nav, moonroof. Price: 30,000$

The Avalon has a little more but is more expensive. Give me your opinion.

A: Well, they are both great cars…just way different in categories! The Avalon is beautiful luxury car, powerful, comfortable, rides like a dream! The Corolla is sporty, fun and very nice looking. Of course the fuel mileage would be better with the Corolla. If I had to pick between the two (have drove both many times) I would have to pick an Avalon…I have never been in a nicer riding car than an Avalon!!

Have fun picking!

Q: Buying a New Car- Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic?
I am buying a new car, but having a tough time deciding between a 2008 Honda Civic or a 2008 Toyota Corolla. And… Toyota is coming out with a new Corolla model sometime in the spring. So, I don’t know whether I should wait for the new model to come out or not.
Oh, and I’m trying to completely stay under 20,000 dollars. So I would get a Civic LX or a Corolla S.
Which one would be better??? Or should I just wait until the newer Corolla comes out?

A: I have a honda civic, and boy is it a beauty. It drives wonderfuly and has decent gas mileage.

Q: What is the best price I can get on a new toyota corolla s?
want automatic, sports package and moonroof. What did you pay? How can I get a great deal? I know carmax has awsome deals on new toyotas, but that is way too far for me to travel and they won’t ship, you actually have to go there and take possesion.

A: Invoice price would be around $18,100. You might be able to shop around and a get a few hundred taken off here or there. Wait until the end of the month when dealers are at their hungriest and shop several different dealerships. Good luck!

Q: why is it that i bought a brand new toyota corolla and it had a manufacturing defect in the radio? why is it?
that toyota talks about quality but their cars are not as good as they claim to be? why dont they make better quality cars that dont have defects in the radio components? can a car person say why?

A: Very simply, the stereo system in all vehicles are made by outside suppliers, not by the auto companies themselves. As with any electronic item, there can be defects. Sometimes these defects do not show up until the unit has been used for a while. The radio can work fine, and then have some component fail after use.

A radio is a vehicle accessory. It is not needed to drive the car. A problem with the radio, just like a defective windshield wiper blade or a light bulb that fails prematurely, is not a major quality issue.

The radio should be covered under warranty. Take it back to the dealer

Q: New toyota corolla, should I get snow tires?
I live in New England and this is my first winter with it. We have already had our first snow fall and I live on a steep hill. I was wondering if its worth it to put on snow tires.

A: Good all-season tires should be good enough, as long as you don’t drive like a nut.

This is my first New Hampshire winter (i’m from Britain originally), and I drive a Hyundai Tiburon on all-season tires. It was a handful on the first day of the snow (due to my own inexperience), but I got used to it and just took it easy.

Q: What do you think of new model of toyota corolla ?
I think it sucks !!
first it was camry then corolla
on the other hand shapes of Honda are improving day by day.
It hurts me coz I was waiting for new corolla to buy ,
They wud fire their model designer, once its launched in US.
WHAT A DISGRACE FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL CAR.

A: Toyota makes great cars, I’ll never say anything different about that. I own a 1991 Toyota Camry and it’s running great with 228,000 miles on it. But my goodness. Those newer 2006 2007 models or whatever… I totally agree with you. They look ridiculous. They look like they were based off of a PT cruiser. I really don’t like the way they look at all. The new Hondas look fantastic, and they have a great reputation with vehicle durability like Toyota. Same goes for Nissan. Even though I’m a big Toyota enthusiast, I have to say if they continue with these designs I’m going for a Honda or Nissan for my next car… Whenever that day comes, No $$$… =(

Q: Can anybody say somthing good about buying a new toyota corolla?
or something bad?

A: Its BRAND NEW,one thing i would have to say, even though they deprecite, theres nothing like a NEW CAR with the new car smell, and you know no one has ever driven it BUT You!
Still cant go wrong with a 2-3 year old toyota also.
They are A ExCELLENT car, our toyota is a 1997 with 200,000 miles,we have spent maybe about $1500-$2000 since we bought it Brand New,we changed the brakes, timing belt, antifreeze, oil changes ,and service the transmission in 11 years, very minimal service,I did some maintenance myself, but it averaged about $175.00 a year on maintenance.
Theres Nothing i can say Negative about the car except they depreciate when you buy brand new,but if you plan to keep it for over 5 years, like us,e owned ours for 11 years why not buy brand new, having a New CAR has that great feelling that no one has ever abused it or touched it but YOU!
EXCELLENT CAR!!

Q: If you bought a brand new Toyota Corolla would you buy extended warranty?
Please tell me why you would or wouldn’t.

A: The real answer is twofold. First, how long are you going to keep the car for? If you’re only going to keep it for 2-4 yrs, your factory warranty will cover you for most of that time, and the powertrain warranty will cover a significant part up to 5yr/60K (3yr/36K on the comprehensive).

If, however, you keep your cars for a long time (I usually figure 4 or more) it may be beneficial. I say may be for a reason. Figure that an extended warranty is like insurance. If you have the resources to cover a significant repair on your own, don’t bother. If you don’t, then it may very well be helpful. Keep in mind that at today’s rates you have $80-$100/hr for labor on top of parts for any significant repair and who knows what it may run in the future.

The second part of the answer is depending on if the warranty is from Toyota directly or by some 3rd party. If it is not a Factory-backed Warranty, it will not be fully comprehensive. There are exclusions and limitiations. If you get a Toyota Platinum Warranty, it is a direct extension of the Factory bumper-to-bumper warranty. That would be the ONLY coverage I would recommend if you are to get it. If the coverage is from a 3rd party, you have no guarantee that it will still be in business, if the dealership will honor it, or if you will get any actual coverage.

Just my $.02

Hope this helps.

Ken

Q: How much is a brand new toyota corolla in china/japanese?
how much is the vehicle in form of yen in the actual country?

A: $9000..

Q: does anyone know where i can find a volkswagen beetle for sale?
where could i find a volkswagen beetle for sale in the lubbock texas area or around there? please i am desparate!!
i want a classic beetle like 1976 or so. im not a big fan of the newer models

A: try here.

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/

Q: Is anyone having a Volkswagen Beetle for sale in Kenya, that is in good running condition?

A: Yes, I have one for sale but yet to decide the offer price. Will let you know.

Q: Where can I find a ‘63-’72 Volkswagen Beetle for sale cheap?
I am looking for a cheap ‘63-’72 Volkswagen Beetle for sale in Fresno County, California.

A: Thesamba.com
they have all kinds of Vws for sale, just search for the type /year/model/ area you want and it will give you a list of VW Bugs that meets your search criteria

Q: I have a 2007 pink Volkswagen New Beetle for sale – where is the best place to list this rare find?

A: autotrader.com

Q: Volkswagen 1972-1975 Super Beetle for sale??
Hi,
Does anyone know where I could find a Volkswagen Super Beetle 1972-1975 for less than $5000? It doesn’t need to be restored but it needs to run. Thanks for the help

A: here ya go beetle.com

Q: what is the average selling price of a 1968 volkswagen beetle?
There is a 68 vw beetle for sale down by my house that is $3800, but would it be possible to talk him down to $3000. The car is a fairly good looking car. The engine runs fine. They have custom painted it themselves using what looks like spray paint. What should the price of that vehicle be?

A: you can check ebay and see what they are going for. That is a very cool and fairly popular car. Be sure to check it over for rust.

BTW: The only way to know if he will take 3k is to offer him the money and see what he says. If that is the max you are willing to pay then walk away.

Q: Can I get a pre-1968-style bumper for a 1975 Volkswagen Beetle?
As a kid I had an obsession with the “Herbie the Love Bug” movies. Recently I found a 1975 Volkswagen Beetle for sale in town, complete with the Herbie decals – numbers and racing stripes. I’m thinking about buying it, but it is something that I’d want to improve over time. I noticed that it currently has the flat bumpers without the “over tubes” like the pre-1968 models. To me this is a defining characteristic of the Herbie character and I’m sure at some point I would want to replace these with the older style. I can’t find a definitive answer, but the sites I’ve found it seems the only bumpers available for a particular year are in the style that is consistent with the original. I guess what I want to know is if anyone makes the older style bumper that may be installed on a 1975 model.

Thanks!
Tim
After a bit more research I found conversion brackets on the following site, but the description says they are for ‘68 – ‘73. But I read somewhere where someone said they got pre-1968 bumpers for their ‘74 Beetle on this site. Are brackets for ‘74+ models no longer available, or is the ‘68 – ‘73 description inaccurate?

http://www.mamotorworks.com

A: in 1974 they used the shock absorber bumper brackets. you would have to buy new http://www.mamotorworks.com/acvw-volkswagen-beetle-sheet-metal-1-72-9789.html

“Z” and “k” replacement panels for 68-73 bugs. that is unless its a super beetle. then the “k” from the list will NOT fit. supers and standards are the same from the ‘A’ frame back

Q: 1978 convertible volkswagen beetle?
theres a 1978 vw beetle for sale near to me and its for sale for $5200. Is that a good deal? the outside is in very good condition and the inside needs just minor repairs to the floor. i dont know cars so i have no idea if its a good deal or not. please help!
here’s a picture i took of the car

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x195/pinkice506/10878702066_ORIG.jpg

A: it’s too old and too expensive

your paying for the cute or novelty factor

for $4,000 you can buy a car from 1998, for $5K to $6,000 a 2000.

it’s just not worth that to anyone but a collector or someone who owned one once and wants to relive the past.

it might be a fun car for weekends or summers in Fla but not for your daily driver

Q: 1972 Volkswagen for sale?
We were at the Pasco bug jam yesterday. They set a new world record for stuffing 16 people in an old style VW beetle. However we saw out in the parking lot a 1972 VW beetle convertible for sale.It had a new motor, clutch.top boot, tires and stereo. No visible rust or paint fade. They were asking $3500.00. Is this a reasonable price?

A: Only if they have ALL the paper work, like all the work orders. And if they say a friend did it well then you should have it checked over by a shop. They will tell you whats up.
Remember that if it seems to good to be true, then it is.
$3500 for a convertible is low, get it checked.

Q: How would a 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle be on gas?
I had a Toyota Corolla but (shockingly) the engine went out in it so I’m in desperate need of a new car. There is a Super Beetle for sale near me and its going for $1,500. Theres not anything really wrong with it and its not too expensive so it would be perfect for me. I have a friend that works at a shop so if anything goes wrong with it he can fix it, so thats taken care of. My main concern, as you would guess with the rising gas prices, is a car thats not going to cost me a fortune at the pump.
About how many MPG (city, highway, on average) do you think I would get with it?

A: Probably not a whole lot. My guess would be between 14-18. Remember, those cars were popular around a time when gas prices weren’t an issue. I don’t think the ‘78 beetle’s tanks are too big either so you might be at the pump more often than most.

The mechanics and electrics on the car may not be a problem, but I wouldn’t recommend this car as a gas saver.

Q: How reliable are Volkswagen Beetles?
There is a 1999 VOLKSWAGEN NEW BEETLE GLS for sale for $5400 that I am interested in but i’m not sure if its worth the price or not. It has 147,000 miles on it and that was my biggest deciding factor. Can anyone tell me if it is worth buying and is 147,000 miles is a lot for a beetle. Thank you!

A: Too many miles, too much money. Make sure you have plenty of money for parts and repairs. Very unreliable, read the links.

Q: Im looking for a ‘63 Volkswagen Beetle that runs and is cheap?
I really want ‘63…’69…or a ‘72 Volkswagen Beetle that is legal, runs great, cheap, and is for sale in Fresno County, California. It would be my first car.

A: Being from the Bay Area and driving a VW myself, I would suggest that you will find your best shot in Craigslist. (www.craigslist.org). There are quite a few VW’s there in various states and conditions.

You should be able to find one within a 200 mile radius of Fresno easily. If you want to go further, there are a ton of them in Oregon for some unknown reason.

You should look into the car models before you buy and consider your skills. THere are subtle and expensive differences between the cars you cite.

Prior to 66 the cars were 6volt systems.. This means you will have a problem with electrical things (adding radios, accessories,, etc..).

From 71 on there were Bugs and Super Bugs.. different suspensions.. one is easy to maintain (Bugs) and one is better to ride (Super Bugs).

They made an automatic (sort of) model.. avoid it like the plague unless you have a lot of money…

and so on..

Convertibles are expensive.. OLD bugs are expensive.. etc..

But the car is a classic and a lot of fun to drive.. If you have never had one be sure to get a maint. book to help you repair it.. (repairs are generally easy and simple).

good luck…and enjoy your bug..

.

Q: Why was the original style VW Beetle not offered for sale in the USA when it was still for sale in Mexico?
Volkswagen just stopped producing the old-style Beetle in 2005 but it has not been available in the US for about 30 years. Why???

A: Maybe it is because they are trying as new marketing technique or something.

Q: Is it better for economy when people spend more money?
Lets say most people buys $100,000 for 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, but everyone found out that there is store that sales $50, 000 for 1963 Volkswagen Beetle. This store sales way cheaper than other store, even the product of cars are exactly the same, like Ford,Dodge, etc, so everyone buys buys cars from this store, and everyone spend less. Will this make economy bad? It is better for economy to spend more?

A: The less price, theoretical should indicate an increase in efficiency. If this is the case then it is not bad to spend less for the same item. Remember profits are an indication of were resources should be expended. If a business can sell an item for less, then over time there profits will climb meaning that they will make more money (law of diminishing marginal cost). This would actually mean that out economic activity would climb.

Now if however spend in the entry economy would drop off. They growth would too according to the Solow model. That would mean a less optimal output and a economy that could be “better”.

Q: Where can i buy an air ride kit suspension for volkswagen vw bug beetle?
I’m looking to buy an air ride suspension , kit , or system for a 1971 vw bug. you know, the air bag / hydraulics type of deal. looking for a complete kit including compressor, bags, pipes, valves, switches, ect. any web sites , places , phone numbers , or even if you have a used for sale please let me know it will hep me alot…

Thanks

A: ebay, summit.com, jcwhitney maybe

Q: Whats the best way to sell my car?
I have a 2002 ford escape for sale on 2 web sites. Should I leave it parked on a buisy road so people can see it?

A: You should run an ad in you local newspaper, Craig’s list and put a for sale sign in the window and park in a busy parking lot facing the hwy. Put it in a different area every couple of days, just don’t leave it parked over night and you’ll be fine. Good luck.

Q: Would you drive a Ford Hybrid Escape from the US to Argentina?
There is a car like this for sale and it has 82,313 miles.

I want to buy it to take a trip from the US to Argentina, then I will ship it back to the US from Venezuela.

It is a triip of about 10,000 miles aprox in high ways only, because I plan to get around in the cities using local transportation.

So please tell me what do you say, would you do it? The dealer shows the car with no problems.

Thanks for the advice.

A: no-not-nyet-nein-non-oh no-and hell no

I had friends who drove a car to Guatemala and would NEVER do that again…..much bribing, much sleeping with one eye open, etc

Q: Any relief for struggling US auto makers?
US auto giants. They where so indomitable.Any new models which have been well recieved. Is the ford escape 2008 on sale. What abt GMC Acadia.Any plans to counter the situation

A: The relief at the moment is being made by the employees of the old big 3. Lower wages, doing more, working different hours.
As for quality of the domestic cars, I believe that they are at least as good as the foreign competition. I say this because I have seen the improvements on the assembly lines. Computers keep track of any operation that was not completed while it was within a set space of the work station. When the car/truck hits the end of the line, a report is issued and the car/truck is taken to a repair area to check those operations that did not meet standards. There are also more quality checks during the shifts to ensure that the equipment is in calibration.
The fuel economy of the new cars is improving all the time. And for those who say we don’t build quality and safety, take a look at the IIHS safety ratings for the new Taurus and the Ford trucks.
People have the opinion that domestic autos aren’t as good, well, it’s time to take another look and fairly evaluate the new cars. We really need to keep our industry at home and the profits too. Once we lose this industry to foreign companies, the economic conditions of a lot of towns will drop and more and more Americans will be out of work. One of every six jobs in America is dependent on the transportation industry.

Buy American and keep us strong. It is more than a slogan.

Q: do 2005 ford escape already have an aux input… if so where is it?
i looked in the manual and it says its the 2nd cig lighter on the bottom but the aux cables that im seeing for sale doesnt have a cig lighter input… im trying to connect my ipod itouch to the car… any suggestions where i can fin d a compatable cable to do so? thanks

A: there are two. see your manual. mine has two in plain sight. both on the area around the stick shift.

Q: i am a auto sales woman for ford.how would i go about getting customers to come to me to buy a new or used aut
i am a auto sales woman for ford.how would i go about getting customers to come to me to purchase either new or used vechile.
we have ford fusion, escape, explorer ford mustang.focus.f150
ford five hundred also over 100 used cars
any ideas

A: It is the Dealerships responsibility to generate floor traffic – not the Salesman’s. It is the Salesman’s responsibility to capitalize on the customer he / she gets.

There is an easy rule of thumb to determine if the Dealership is doing its job and your not working a flooded floor. Divide the number of retail sales by the number of Salesman. On average a car salesman will sell 10 cars a month. A Dealership that sells 100 retail cars a month should have no more than 10 salesmen (500 sales – 50 salesmen). Once you’ve determined you’re in the right Dealership, you then need to make the most of your situation.

How is your appearance? Do you smoke cigarettes? Would a customer want to spend 15 minutes on a demo with you?

Car sales have traditionally been a male business. There are a couple of pitfalls you must avoid being a woman. First never, ever, ever go on a Demo without getting a photocopy of the customers Drivers License and then leaving the copy with your sales manager. Second – Wives buy cars! Don’t attempt to sell the husband a car and ignore the wife. The wife will spoil your sale every time.

You will not sell a car to every customer on the first visit. Customer follow-up determines the best salesmen. You should get most customers on a Demo – that will get you their addresses for a post card. (You photocopied their Drivers License for your safety and follow-up). If the customer gave you a phone number – a polite call every couple of days is a good idea.

Once you become a sales manager it will become your responsibility to generate floor traffic.

I gave my opinion to an Internet Sales Manager on how to generate floor traffic last week here at Yahoo! Answers. Click on my name and look for my advice to – “I am an Internet Sales Manager at a car dealership. How can I drive more traffic in to see me?”

Good Luck

Q: buying mazda tribute or ford escape?
if your a sales man that would be awesome if not anyone can feel free……

i want either a mazda tribute or a ford escape my gears are going towards the tribute… i just like it a lot better… however …. cost is an issue….

we are buying in jan…. do they have good rebates then for both of the cars

A: They are exactly the same car.
The Escape will be cheaper and the Mazda will hold its value better.

www.edmunds.com has the ‘true cost to own’ figures, which calcluates the 5 year total average cost of depreciation, financing, insurance, taxes and fees, fuel, maintenance and repairs.

The Tribute average cost per mile is $0.48.
The Escape average cost per mile is $0.52

Go get the Tribute.

Q: Which car should I buy? 2009 ford escape, 2009 saturn aura?
The ford escape is 4cyl, has sync, moonroof, steps, leather and decent gas mileage for an suv and they are going to throw in a free tom tom gps unit($22,000+tax and tags). The aura has moonroof, heated power seats, leather($21,000). I use it for work as a sales rep so comfort, mpg and space are important. Of course I also want it to look nice. Anyone have any advice?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for different cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.enacre.net

Q: What new small SUV hybrids are there?
What small SUV hybrids are for sale right now (about the size of a Ford Escape or Kia Sportage) that aren’t very expensive and are readily available?

A: The hybrid SUVs on the market right now are:
Saturn Vue Hybrid
Ford Escape Hybrid
Mercury Mariner Hybrid
Mazda Tribute Hybrid
Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Tahoe and Yukon Hybrids from GM.
Lexus RX 400h

I’ve ordered them by cost.

The Saturn Vue Hybrid is the least expensive SUV hybrid, but you get what you pay for. It is a mild hybrid, incapable of driving on electric power alone. Instead, the electric motor ‘assists’ the gas motor, which gives it a slight increase in fuel economy.

The Ford Escape Hybrid is the same as the Mercury Mariner Hybrid and is the same as the Mazda Tribute Hybrid. Although the Mercury will have more options and, in general, be more of a luxury model.

The Toyota Highlander is the basic version of the Toyota SUV hybrid, while the RX 400h is the luxury model.

The Tahoe and Yukon from GM are new to the market, but are not what I would call affordable or small.

If you want as small and aren’t as expensive as the Ford Escape, then you’re limited to the Escape, Tribute, Mariner or the Vue. Slightly larger is the Highlander, but the cost will be higher.

Based on your question, I would say you would want the Ford Escape Hybrid.

Q: What are my rights after signing a car contract and the dealer sells it to someone else?
My wife and I recently were in the market for a Ford Escape 4 cylinder. We went to a Ford dealer and found a 6cylinder escape but they said that they could find us a 4 cylinder and made us a great deal. but it was in Kansas City and would be driven down to us after the weekend. So we signed the contracts recieved the bill of sale. We went to pick the car up and they said that the dealer in Kansas City sold the car to someone else after we already had the bill of sale. What are my rights? Do I need to speak to a lawyer?

A: What happened was that the first dealer sold you a car, that they had arranged to buy from the other dealer. This is know as a DX or Dealer Exchange. Your dealer was given the information on the vehicle, and did the paperwork for you.

In the meantime, the other dealer had someone come in who wanted to buy the vehicle. Either the salesman did not know the vehicle was scheduled to be DX’d, or they decided that it was better for them to sell it retail and make more money! I have seen two salesmen writing deals on the same car, at the same time, at the same dealership, and not know it.

Until you take delivery of the vehicle, the deal is not final. The dealer should refund your money, of course, and attempt to find another vehicle for you. If your money is refunded, you have no loss. There is nothing a lawyer can do for you, other than charge you for his time.

Talk to the general manager of the dealership to see if they can locate another vehicle for you. If not, you may want to look at other dealerships yourself!

Q: Was cash for clunkers was a resounding success?
Was the goal to boost Japanese Auto sales?

TOP SELLERS

1. Toyota Corolla
2. Honda Civic
3. Toyota Camry
4. Ford Focus front-wheel drive
5. Hyundai Elantra
6. Nissan Versa
7. Toyota Prius
8. Honda Accord
9. Honda Fit
10. Ford Escape front-wheel drive
Should we maybe have put a stipulation in there to help the company we purchased in order to “save”?

A: That would explain this main Stream Media Article “Cash for Clunkers under budget with 690,000 sales” I said Huh? How can you start with a 2 Billion Dollar Budget, Run out of money, Add 2 Billion more and Finish Under your 2 Billion Dollar Budget? Oh that’s right it’s the new “Obama Math” AND as you pointed out – the profits on 90% of the sales go straight to help the JAPANESE economy at the American taxpayers expense.

Q: What would be a good 4×4 Mommy vehicle? ?
Hi Everyone. I was just curious as to if anyone had any ideas of a new vehicle for me! I live in West Virginia… yes, in the mountains… and am in need of a 4X4. I currently have a Scion TC that does just fine in the snow and such but I figure it’s going to be a bit hard to get a baby in and out of a two door car. We’ve looked at the Toyota 4Runners..and I really like those… a 2005 to be exact, it’s the sport edition but does anyone else have any more ideas for us to check out? We were thinking about the Ford Escape but a girl that I work with told me that a sales man at the Ford dealership told her that they flip easily. So, that one is out of the question!

Thanks everyone.

A: I dont know if its a 4×4 or not, but I have a Mazda CX7. I love it!! Its not to big, and not to small. We bought it when we started TTC just incase we got pregnant right off the bat we would already have that part taken care of… 7 months later we have a mommy car with no baby. Ugh, but I really realy love it.

Q: Just was curious about auto sales outside the US?
Why is it that Ford,GM sell some of the smae vehicles out the US but name them different for regions like europe and Asian. I understand the concept of some models being offered in different places but not here for marketing but why the name change on the models that they do sell here Example: Ford Taurus (US) Monearo (europe) Ford Escape (US) Maverick (europe) it just doesnt make any sense if someone would like to fill me in that knows. I was just curious they are the same vehicles

A: The Mondeo was actually a car based closer on the Ford Contour than a Taurus. (even though it’s a large car in Europe classifications, it’s considered small to midsize in the US)

A lot of the engineering that went into the Mondeo went into the Contour/Mystique, however apparently they undersized most wiring and are headache cars to this day.

The Maverick according to on-line sources, was a name Ford was already using in Europe for a SUV and was easier to keep the name and stick it on the American Escape, than have to rename it (and Mavericks in North America were small cars from the 1970s for Ford, hince the name not reused in the US)

But here is a curious one for you….

In Mexico, the F-150 and F-250 are actually Latin American produced Tenth generation pickups (ones sold in the US from 1997-2004) . The 11th generation is called a Lobo (hince some people ordering the lobo plates from the dealer and sticking it on their trucks)

The f-250 truck is referred as just the Super duty truck

Q: Will Ford survive the crisis?
I personally think Ford is ill equipped than GM to survive the crisis. The new Taurus was a bit of let down for me.
Does the Escape have the muscle to fight with Rav and CRV.The new Mondeo in Europe seems promising.Any plans abt Focus in US.Edge was also seriously lacking any Muscle. They are selling Jag,Land rover. What abt Volvo,Mazda.I once thought that
Mazda was the weakling in the group.I have never heard that Mazda is for sale.Is MAzda strong in the US.

A: Mazda is not a part of Ford proper. They are not owned outright like Volvo or Land Rover. Ford owns 1/3 of the company, and they’d have to be really dumb to sell that share. (But then again, they’d have to be pretty dumb to sell Volvo, too.)

Jag is not profitable, and in its history has only rarely been. Aston Martin wasn’t profitable, either. I’m not sure about Land Rover, but I suspect that’s the same.

Anyhow, yes, they’ll survive. They’re strong enough overseas that Ford will survive as a company. Even if their North American operations are gutted, Ford of Europe could always move in and pick up the pieces. And I don’t think it’ll even get that bad. Ford is not Rover.

Q: Ok here’s the scernio I seen this commercail on TV for Ford Dealership in my area. they have this program wher
they have this program where for 1st time car buyers is $500 down and it will be match with $500. So not hearing the whole advertisment on TV (I guess my hearing went dense..lol). I would have to not had credit/and or no credit. So I head over to the sales lot since 1 wasnt too far from my house. I knowing my credit isnt that great, so I figured what the hay, let me see if I can get it any way, and of course due to my score, but great wages, I couldnt get the NEW car, but have to opt out to what I think is a pretty decent car, an Escape 2003 low ml just a lttle above 32,000 something mls, fully loaded leather seats disc player, sunroof..etc you get the picture. firdt he comes with a deal of $411 per mo, im thinking I want lower being my first actual car from a lot I would like the payments lower. He comes back with $393 to $385, till finally he thinks I wanted to settle for something in the price range or $300 and above. He comes with $363. Im panicky he actually got a lower price.
So I know what my overhead is so I feeling nervous, and after talking to a friend saying fords arnt that great. So he goes down to…get this $0 down make the first payment in 30-45 days. But Im so got damn jitery i felt I needed time to think it through,/and or if price was a good deal $15,954 something of that nature with total $17, something out the door, and of course $0 down..I panick, I just need to get out of there to get an second opinion, and a c..azeallion opinons you all. come on yall help me out. I don’t think that offer will stay by tomorrow as I tried very hard to I needed to come back in the morning. He worked very diligently to get me a deal of lifetime in his words. But I just can’t help but to think, i could get something a little better for what I feel I would be making payments on. What I got nervous about was, the $500 dollars if I changed my mind, within the 2 days. They were willing to drive the car, with me home, cause I was thinking of every excuse to bring my
They were willing to drive the car, with me home, cause I was thinking of every excuse to bring my old car home.

A: First the Dealership is being pushy, and if that deal was good yesterday then it will be good tomorrow also. The Escape has been a very reliable car. I am a Ford Master Technician and the Escape is a good car. As far as the safety institute ratings released yesterday, yes the Escape was listed because it does not have side airbags. The price the dealer gave you is within the range that it is worth. If you want a very safe car for less money you will have to do much research to find the car that meets your budget and has all the options that you want. Do not be pushed into buying something you really do not want.

Q: Auto dealer says to purchase new 2006 car over used 2002-03-04 SUV type vehicle ?
I would like to know, if have 16,000 dollards CDN coming from bank at 3 % int.
The auto dealer want to have use buy a 2006 hyndai-models car (w/warranty, he expesses so much), we could trade it in later for better value after we are done paying it

I wanted to shoot for a 2001 ford escape at 10,000 CND, purchase warranty extra 2000$. i though everybody wants SUV fro re-sale value, but auto dealer says it will break, transmission or something, because it;s old 2001 ?? he want use to start with like car, basic one cavalier, and not get the ferrari so to speak ??

what should i pay attention ? warranty ?, trade-in value ? new year ? old year w/warranty?

My girlfriend uses the 1992 honda accord, i was thinking sell for 1000 cnd, we wanted santa fee, but it was 16,000 cnd for a 2003 year ?? too much, turned it down ?

what do i do guys ? what’s important ?

A: The warranty that comes with a new car is good, but a hyundai will lose it’s value faster than the ford.
As far as I know the Ford truck engines, like the one in the escape are fairly solid if maintained.
The dealer will keep pushing the new car, because he’ll get kick backs from the factory (more money) where as he’ll only make a straight profit on a used car.

If you want a used SUV then buy one, don’t let the dealer push you into a car you don’t want.

Q: What should i do buy it or wait?
i’ve been looking for a small truck for a while and i came across this:
a 1987 Ford Ranger Extended Cab V6 for sale with 87,000 miles and it has a lift kit and 32″ tires looks good and the interior is supposed to be in good condition they’re asking $2,500 obo should i get it or wait for another ranger?
thx in advance

A: First of all, you need to test drive this car, then run a carfax report and get all the receipts for past work/maintenance. Then, if you want to be sure totally, take the car to the local auto shop to have it inspected. It costs anywhere from $40 to $100.

Good luck

Q: I want to trade in my truck for a new car?
I currently have a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge and I just replaced two cylinder heads and it cost me $2500, and I had no warranty on it either. Anyways, I bought it last July/August at a tent sale and it had one previous owner and no accidents, and well I need more room and I want to trade it in for a car, a sedan or coupe. I still owe 10k on it, but I dont really have that much money for a down payment, and my payments already over $300 and my apr is 19%. I’m looking to trade it in for a 12k-13K car that I want and it’s new. I don’t have the time to sell it myself and I know that I wont get 10k for it. It has 46k miles on it and is in excellent shape. Any suggesstions on what I can do besides privately selling it because I dont wanna have to sell it for what I owe on it and pay the bank and then I would be out of a vehicle, or have someone else take over the payments, I dont trust people, so privately selling is not an option and I don’t want another used car.

A: Another option is that Carmax will buy used vehicles and then they can roll any difference into a car that you purchase from them. I advise against get to deep into a car and owing much more on it than it is worth.

I bought a SUV from them and got excellent customer service from them.

Good luck!

Q: I have truck for sale, I listed for online ad, not sold yet, is there anybody wants to buy my Truck??
Ford Ranger, Midnight blue/blue purple, 2005, V6 3.0L, 5 speed, 3 Inch Lift, only 12000 miles on it;
It is a lot better Gas miledge than oversized truck!
Bought new, Sep,05, Under warranty, bumper to bumper,

Spent over $10000 in upgrades on Lift; Tire & Rims, SRD Full Exhaust, Keyless entry & Alarm, Detachable Faceplate Alpine Stereo, Polk front speakers with intergrated tweeters, Alpine in the rear and a 400watt Amp all proffessionally installed, Custom Front Grill & Bedliner,

Want to sell because we need a 4 door sedan,,,

It is really cool color, looks like midninght blue in after noon, and looks like black at night,

I wil send the picture if anybody is interested,

Thanks.

A: I’ll give you 5 thousand.

Q: Baby car seat in the backseat of a pick up?
I am looking into buying a pick up but have a 2 year old. I am wondering if it’s safe to put a baby’s car seat in the back of a pick up with an extended cab. The trucks backseat is similar to this http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://usacars247.com/pictures/17747-6-2004-Ford-F250-Supercab-Longbed-4X4-We-F-for-sale-2010-02-11-12-09-32.jpg&imgrefurl=http://coloniasyperfumes.com.co/img/1990-ford-ranger-xlt-supercab.html&usg=__vxol4pRGTrNsS7DNRTMPGNrx9JQ=&h=768&w=1024&sz=171&hl=en&start=8&zoom=0&tbnid=Duc4c0W3STk7GM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3D2000%2Branger%2Bsupercab%2Bxlt%2Bback%2Bseat%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D782%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C456&um=1&itbs=1&biw=1280&bih=782

Is that a no go? Are my dreams of owning a pick up taking the backseat for a few more years?

A: you’re fine dude.

Q: How long do you think it will take to sell my truck?
Its a 98 ford ranger xlt. The suggested retail is around $4100 according to kbb.com and the private party value is $3200. I put $3200 on it, but am willing to take $2800. Pay off is only $2200.

How long should I expect it to be up for sale?

A: There’s no way to answer that: we don’t know where you are, the actual condition of the truck, the installed equipment and whether that stuff is working, etc.

It’s just going to take however long it takes. Having some wiggle room on the price means you’ll be able to move it faster than if you were firm on the $3200. It being a Ranger means it’s going to move faster than an F-150 in the current economy and fuel price situation, but there’s no way to give an actual number range of days.

Good luck in the sale.

Q: truck for sale in palm bay, florida?
i have always wanted a truck. i am getting my license in march and i have 8,000 for a car. i have been looking at ford rangers and i was wondering if anyone within 25 miles of 32907 are selling one within my price limit? under 90,000 miles and automatic.. thank you? =)

Good luck!

Q: Do we have to pay taxes on this car?
My boyfriend received a 1991 Ford Ranger from his grandfather as a gift. We are going to transfer the title and register it in my boyfriends name tomorrow. On the bill of sale it says that the truck is being given for “$0 (as a gift).” It doesn’t state anywhere in the bill of sale that it is his grandfather giving him the truck, it just has names. Are we going to have to pay any tax or gift tax on the vehicle. We live in Lee county in Alabama.
fisherwoman: His grandfather typed out the bill of sale leaving two blanks for both the grandfather & my boyfriend to print their names. He also left two lines with each of their names typed under one, so they could sign on the line.
Yes, his granfather is the only one on the title. There’s no “estate.” His grandfather is still alive. I don’t believe I said anything about him passing.

A: Laws differ from state to state. In some states there is no tax, while in others, they tax the vehicle at it’s normal retail value. Check www.dmv.org for the laws in your state, or simply call the DMV and ask what the procedure is for transferring Title on a gift vehicle.

Q: I just bought a used truck and …… Please Help!!?
Hi i was wondering if there is anything i can do i bought a used 1993 ford ranger truck off the side of the road sale and the guy wrote of a bill of sale he was selling it for his friend and signed his friends names and gave me the truck for what i paid but i still have yet to receive the title and now it’s been a month the guy who sold it to me wont return my calls and i cant register it with out the title in new hampshire it as to be at least 15 years old for no title not letting it sit for another year and half thats crazy anyone have any advice and no i dont have the # to the person truck who really owns but i do have his last registration so i know his name please help if you can thanks.!

Can I file for lost title if i dont have the last title and it’s not my truck with out the title correct or does the bill of sale showing the owner has sold it to me make it ok to file for the lost title claim?

A: Go to the Secretary of State, DMV, or whatever office in your state registers vehicles. Explain what happened, and ask if you can get the name, address, and phone # of the owner.

Also, try looking up his name in the phone book, or else at switchboard.com.

Have your lawyer contact the seller, and the previous owner.

Talk to whatever police department has jurisdiction over the place where you bought the truck. If the seller didn’t have power of attorney from the seller, he committed a crime.

Q: whos going to be relegated Rangers or Killie?
Well who’s going down…is it the Hun or the Inbreads? I personally would love to see Rankers impload & remember their whole first team is up for sale
Rangers:
Ins:———–computer say NO————
Outs: Danny Wilson (Liverpool), Kevin Thomson, (Middlesbrough), Kris Boyd (Middlesbrough), Steven Smith, DaMarcus Beasley, Nacho Novo (Sporting Gijon), Scott Durie (East Fife)

Killie:
Ins:————N/A———-
Outs: David Fernandez, Gavin Skelton (Hamilton), Kevin Kyle (Hearts), Simon Ford (Chesterfield)

A: Hey Tim, just you wait and see when Juarez feels the bitter, cold winter. He won’t be interested. Cha’s a striker. Just two things, and an inexperienced manager. Plus, we’ve only lost two key players, Thomson and Boyd, the rest aren’t big misses. Thomson’s replaceable with McCulloch, Davis and Edu. So, I conclude that Boyd is the only big loss, plus we’ll get in two guys. WATP, here we go, three in a row! GIRUY Tim!

Q: truck go away!!!?
just wonder ,when would be good time to sale truck… during winter?
you see I have 1999 ford ranger 4by4 high and 4by4 low… v6 too..

Q: Rim Install ????????
I have a 2000 ford ranger 2wd xlt that has 15×7 inch rims with a 5 4/5 bolt pattern on it now is there any way I can fit the 15×8 with the same bolt pattern on my truck with out any modification to the tires. Becasue my friend has a set of 15×8 for sale the ones I like but I dont want to buy them if they wount fit thanks.

A: Depends on the tire size – if they do rub it will only be if you turn all the way one way or the other.

The back spacing on the rim should be about the same as yours or less – then it sticks out not in.

Test fit them before you buy. That means drive it too.

Q: Has your life improved since Obama took office?
Mine certainly has…
I own a small nursery, lawn and garden and floral shop. I started it in 1997 with my wife. 2 years later she was killed by a drunk driver. It has been a struggle without her.
My absolutely best years were 1998-2000. 2001-2002 saw what I considered a large dip in sales, but now it seems rather small. I staged a small comeback 2003-2006. 2007 was another dip, but I had no idea 2008 the bottom would drop out. Except for 1997, my first year in business, 2008 was my worst. A lot had to do with out of control energy costs.
2009 is a completely different story. Not that it is great, but things are different. For example, I sold and delivered mums to a business today. It was a really good sale, two 20″ pots with 2 nice big plants in each, two 16″ pots with one of my best mums in each. Finish it off with 2 12″ hanging baskets. I haven’t seen an order this big from this particular company since 2004. The baskets were $25 each, the 16″ were $40 each. The 20″ were $80 each. A $290 sale and they didn’t bat an eye. Last year it was two 14″ pots for $35 each and they asked if I’d take $60 for both… I really hate negotiating on prices. Last year, perhaps 75% of my commercial accounts wanted to negotiate. Now nearly nobody wants to negotiate. Most want more AND bigger.
This time last year I was more depressed and worried about my life than ever before, even more than when my wife was killed in 1999. Now things seem so much brighter for me AND my now teenaged son.
Last week I was able to sell a 1994 Ford Ranger to the government for $4500. I replaced it with a 2009 Ford Ranger. I went from 6 cyl & 4WD to 4 cyl & 2WD. I’ll be saving $100+ per month on fuel costs. I spent too much repairing the old truck. Before this program, I’d be lucky to get $500 for that POS. I just couldn’t replace it. Now I did. I helped a fellow American at Ford hold on to his job. I burn less fuel. That means less money for the Arabs. I’d say everything is going pretty good. In time, things will be great. Why can’t some of you be happy for the rest of us?

A: Yes.

You notice how the Republicans keep trying to cause the economy to tank. When the USA comes out of the bad economy they will try to claim that they did it the whole time they have been talking about how it will only get worse.

Q: Why do my In-Laws piss me off?
I’m just ranting and raving about shit that goes on in my life and see if anyone has the same issues.

First of all, my mother-in-law volunteers at my daughter’s school and stops by our house to take her to school and drop her off. Which it’s nice but she comments on how dirty my house looks occasionally when it’s really clean! Then she and my sister-in-law have paid for my daughter (who is 5) to go to gymnastics, that I didn’t think was a good idea since my daughter hated it at first and now I feel like they’ve pressured her into doing it since my niece is 8 and does it. Every kind of activity they can put my niece in they put my daughter in it too. If I tell them no about something they sign her up anyway and then tell my husband that they’ve already paid for it. So, he says that it can be good for her to do. My niece is in pageants, softball, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, cheer leading, and anything that gets her out of my sister-in-laws hair. My niece was an “uh oh baby”. My daughter was planned. I actually love spending time with my daughter and don’t like someone else watching her when I’m available. I always get the heat for when my daughter gets sick. I won’t go anywhere out of the house and when my daughter gets sick my mother-in-law says that she couldn’t have gotten it from school or gymnastics or the dollar store they shop at. She always asks me how she got sick or who she was around when she was with me. I don’t care about it. Kids get sick from other kids at school or anything. Kids don’t practice healthy hygiene while at school or at gymnastics. But my mother-in-law makes it a big deal and makes it out to be my fault every time!

My sister-in-law is not happy unless she is CENTER OF ATTENTION! My husband had a wreck when we first got married and his parents were going to take him to find a new car. Well, we went looking without them one day and found a dealership that was having a sale. We came back to their house and told them about the sale and they took his sister and got a new SUV. We ended up with their little Ford Ranger and she ended up with the new car when she just got a new car a few months back. When I had my daughter, my sister-in-law got jealous of me having all the attention she had to go get a house and put it where my father-in-law cleared out a place for us. A few months before my father-in-law said that their well could hold up to 5 houses on a drought time. His mother threw a fit and said it’s not meant for 2 houses and it would make their taxes go up too much for them to afford, even though we would pay the difference. His sister put a house in the spot we had cleared out. After that we just decided to move out and it didn’t matter where. Now we rent a really small trailer that is made for a single person. After we moved his sister had to get fake breasts. She brags that she used her “tits” for her new car to get a bunch of upgrades for free. She had someone run into her and she gave it to her parents for them to finish paying it off. She now has a new car that is worth 20,000 more than her last car and she brags again that she got it cheaper because of her new boobs. Now, we are 90% there in getting our house and our own property. His parents are happy for us and started bragging to people that we’re getting a house. His sister went yesterday and is getting a house that is 2x bigger and costs a lot more than ours. I found this out today when my mother-in-law dropped off my daughter from school and my niece said that they are moving in a week. My mother-in-law gave her a funny look (like a shut up kind of look) and kind of did a quiet shh that I could hear anyway. So, why are some families so disturbed and content with trying to out do the other members???

My family has issues about staying faithful to spouses, but we are a loving family and never try to out do one another. My father’s side has a lot of money and my mother’s side doesn’t, but they can still come together and talk about family and friends (my parents are divorced too) without saying or bragging about the new stuff they have. His family is so corrupt. His great grandmother and grandfather died and his grandmother and her sister’s got into an argument about how equal the inheritances was. So they don’t talk to each other over one getting the house plus 2 acres, one getting 30 acres, and the other one getting 15 that has a pond with fish in it. Then, the money in their accounts was to be split between their 3 children. My family takes what they get and then they’re done with it. They never argue over it. My grandfather died and left anything he had to my uncle and aunt who took care of him. My aunt and uncle had quilts made out of his clothing and gave them to the other brothers and sisters for christmas. If they were anything like my husbands fa
I think I’m just going to divorce him… He’s lazy about everything and doesn’t see anything that is wrong with his family. His sister throws stuff in my face about things that she knows that I can’t have and won’t ever have. She says it with her nose stuck in the air. And I’m jealous? I’m not jealous. I am very proud of everything I have. When I get something new, she has to get something bigger and better and then she brags to people what she got and how much better hers is than mine. But I’m jealous, right? It’s fine. I’m done. And thank you Dork for pointing that out to me, that I married the man. Deal with it? I think I will. I’m getting a divorce.
Also, I was just being nice when I said my niece was an uh oh baby. My sister-in-law is a whore. She fucked around and doesn’t know who the father is. That is an uh oh baby! A whatever happens happens baby is what you are talking about.
And for Vicky and Losing is not an option…. Thank you guys for actually giving me good answers and advice on what I am doing wrong. But I think I have made my decision on what I need to do.

A: to be very honest this is all simple to deal with

1- talk to the school principal and tell them, “if its not me signing my daughter up for an activity, don’t do it”, explain the problem and the school will back YOU up not them

2- when they come pick her up for these activities don’t be home and take your child with you, don’t be available for them to control, if you can’t do that, just stand in the door and say I did not authorize or pay for this activity, she is not allowed to join things I don’t authorize, good day, and close the door YOU have to put a stop to this or it will go on forever

3- whatever your sister in law does or takes or says is HER problem, let it go, she is a bag of sad and you can live your life better if you stop looking at hers, let God deal with her, believe me HE WILL

4-don’t compare your family to theirs, it doesn’t matter and makes no sense, all it does is make you sick, spend that energy on your family

5- tell your man you want to strengthen your family and start spending as much time with him and your daughter AWAY from the others as you can, tell him you need more intimacy/privacy NOW

Q: Contract Law question, could you help?
I only started to answer this question, I need some help telling if I am heading in the right direction.

Question:

Arnold advertised his lorry for sale in the Morning Gazette, a national newspaper. The advertisement specified that the lorry was a ‘2002 Ford Ranger diesel pick-up – asking price $7000 – Telephone 0123444555′

Bob telephone Arnold and told he would pay $7000. Arnold replied ‘I had hoped for more’. The line went dead before Bob could hear Arnold say, ‘but I accept your offer.’ Bob sent a text message to Arnold confirming his offer but this was misdirected and went to another number. Two days later Cynthia, a friend of Arnold’s, told Bob that Arnold had accepted his offer.

Advise Arnold.

Answer:

From the facts of the case, it could be identified that there is a valid contract. There are 4 requirements to be fulfilled in order to determine the existence of a valid contract; as was established by Lord Wilberforce in the Eurymedon. The first being, agreement followed by consideration, intention to create legal relations and no vitiating factors.

The first requirement; agreement – An agreement is a promise of sets of promises that are binding in law which comprise offer and acceptance. An offer is “an expression of willingness to contract on certain terms, made with the intention that it shall become binding as soon as it is accepted by the person to whom it is addressed” as defined by Prof. Teritel.

On the facts (OTF) – Arnold had placed an advertisement stating he had a ‘Ford…pick-up – asking price $7000′. Prima facie, the status of Arnold’s advertisement appears to be an invitation to treat (ITT) – an expression of willingness to negotiate – it indicates the interest of one party to enter into negotiations and is by no means supposed to form a binding contract. Whether the advertisement was an offer or an ITT depends on the intention of the parties as was established in the cases – Carlil v Carbolic Smoke Ball Co. where it was established that it was an offer and in Partridge v Crittenden where is was established that is was an ITT.

A: To be honest I only have a shallow understanding of contracts, but from what I read about the facts of the case, it has all the components of a valid contract. Definitely looks like you’re going in the right direction; I’d like to add more, but I’m only an incoming college freshman aspiring to major in law. Good luck.

On a side note, you’re right about both parties showing definite willingness to negotiate.
