Q: How do you Install a cigarette lighter for a 91 Honda civic hatchback.?
Hello, my 91 honda civic hachback comes without a cigarette lighter and i bought the whole kit to install it in the car but it didnt come with directions. If some one can help me with a website or something to help me get this installed into my 91honda civic hatchback. THANKS !
A: You should buy a Honda Civic Service manual for the year and model of your car. This will help you locate where all the screws are for the panel you plan to install your cigarette lighter.
If you are simply replacing an existing cigarette lighter, then it should be easy to do. Remove the panel then unscrew and pop out the old cigarette lighter. Reconnect the positive (red) and negative (black) wire behind your cigarette lighter.
If you plan to install a cigarette lighter in a new spot, you’ll need to have a multimeter and the 2 wires that will serve as your negative and positive connections for your new cigarette lighter. Then you’ll need to extend a new wire from your cigarette lighter fuse from under your dashboard to the new spot for your cigarette lighter. The other wire can be tied to any metal frame or contact that serves as your ground terminal.
Turn your car to on and measure the voltage across the two wires at the new spot for your lighter. If it reads about 12 volts, then you can now connect and install your new cigarette lighter.
Good luck!
Q: How to put back 8th gen honda civic coolant tank?
I have a 8th generation honda civic (2010).
I removed the tank to change my headlight bulbs on the driver side by simply pulling it out but it doesn’t seem to slide back in. Is there a easy way to line up the slot to slide the coolant tank back in?
A: There is not really a way you just have to keep trying … I wish there was a way then that would make it easier on all of us 8th gen owners

Q: Honda Civic?
I’m looking for a Honda Civic. Are there any websites that compare ALL Civics in your area?? If so, please share. Thank you so much!!!!!
A: yeah check eBay, its the best way to view and compare cars ‘in your area.’ i am willing to drive about 500 miles to pick up a good car.
Q: Honda Civic?
I am looking at cars to buy roughly worth around 5 to 7 grand. What are the honda civic cars around 95′ like? Are there any other good cars for this price?
A: you can get a 2000 honda civic for the 5g
or better yet a 2000 or newer toyota that is better
on gas mileage
Q: Honda Civic?
My boyfriend has a ‘95 Honda Civic (auto, 4 doors). He just got it a couple weeks ago. We took it on a road trip and I noticed it has absoulty no power. It struggled to go the speed limit (70mph) on even a slight grade or turns. Is this how honda civics are supposed to be? I have a ‘93 toyota camry and that thing moves fast!
A: Did the Honda suck on the test drive before he bought it? Perhaps there was some monkey business going on? Maybe the engine is burnt out? Check the compression. Could be something stupid like a stuck EGR valve, that will rob you of a lot of HP. Or clogged Fuel filter? These are the only things I can think of to make an engine drop in power over the period of test drive to 1 week later.
Q: Honda Civic?
I’m looking to buy a car, at the moment i don’t have one, just sold my last one and my boyfriend has been telling me to get a honda civic, (he had a 2000 honda intergra type R) i only have about $2,000 to spend so i don’t wanna get something too expensive, i just want to hear from some people who own a honda civic (preferably an older one) to know what they are like and how reliable they are.
This is the car i’ve been looking at getting: http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/HONDA/CIVIC/South%20Australia/2157943.aspx
$2,000 australian is $1,584.18 American

Thanks to all who answer
A: okay dude…I’m an american tuner and I dunno how hard they are to find over there but they are really abundant here!!! The type-R is really rare here though!! If you can find one for under 10,000.00 USD then it is worth it!!! but I would also recommend that you just get a civic and make it a type R yourself….. I’ve seen this alot here and I have a JDM tuner myself….. that i built off of an 2000 civic Si platform. As far as mods….. I paid about 650.00 USD for my body kit, and it came with the lights, and for rims you are probably looking at between 1,000.00 and 4,000.00USD depending on the type of rims and the sizes that you want. And for getting the mods done….. do them yourself….. most tuners hate people with “shop cars” this means that you didn’t do the work yourself…… but bigger stuff like turbos and headers, exhaust etc…. take that to the shop…. but kits and rims you can do yourself!!! My recommendations would be to get a good honda civic… regardless of the type…. and build it a little at a time…. start with a good exhaust…. ie. Skunk 2, GReddy, or K&N…. then get a Cold Air Intake or a turbo charger… ( if you plan on turbo charging your car…. make sure that your xhaust is turbo compatable) Then get your rims….. then your kit so you can make sure that everything looks good… then get it painted…… then you can do whatever other outside mods you may want to do… also interior wise if you are going to do anything… be careful because your car if it is after a 96 will have different sensors that you can set off if you aren’t careful
Q: Honda Civic?
There’s a (I think 95?) Somewhere aroudn there…Honda Civic EX two door that I want to buy. It’s $700. The book value is $3,000 but there’s some postives and negatives. The negatives is that the transmission is bad but if I pay an extra $100 the seller will put it in for free and buy it. There is no driver side window. At a junk yard I could replace that easily though for about $40. The windshield is cracked but I could replace that for about $75 to 100. The left (or right) front fender is dented but I know someone that can fix that pretty easy for about $25. The paint it purple and primer. The positives is that it’s some kind of limiter edition? I’m not sure. There are Si special rims to it. I’m not sure about those either. Also, there are free performance parts the seller would give me, but i’m not sure what they are.
Do you think that this is a good deal?? I don’t think it’s bad but my mom and my boyfriend said that it’s a rip off. I’m only 16.
A: I think youre gettin ripped off. Even if its only $700. You are gonna put WAY more than $700 on that car. I would say its around $3000 blue book yes, but its not even worth $700 if its in that bad of shape. And there is no way NO WAY that he could pay $100 for a transmission and just put it in like that. The transmission is one of if not the most expensive thing to put in a car, and its HARD to fix. I have a Civic, I’ve had one for about five years. Dont do it man. A Civic is the best car out there, just save up and if you put an extra thousand in it you can find a much better one.
Q: honda civic?
hey do anyone knows where can i find a cheap 1999 honda civic Si engine in california?? or wnywhere but cheap??
A: Recycler.com or craigslist. Also, try CNS Motors. I’ve had good experiences with them. They have a location in Santa Ana and also one in El Monte I believe but I’ve never been to that location. Also, you can order form them online at cnsmotors.com. If you search the newspaper, you’ll find a lot of used JDM engine distributors. That’s one of the beauties to living here in California. These shops are as common as Arco stations.
Q: Honda Civic?
Ok, From what I hear the 92-95 Honda’s are the ones to go for. Most parts, you can swap anything in them, they are reliable and cheap, and kinda common. Now, what exactly does the eg in the civic eg model stand for? I have heard of them referrred to as “Honda Civic EG/EX hatch..whats the EG? the EX is the trim …I think…
Also, what are some of the cheapest and best swaps for power? I am not much into street racing, but I do quarter miles and auto-x..
A: EG is just the chassis code of the car, 1992 – 1995 EG 1996-2000 EK 1989- 1991 EF
Q: honda civic?
How much would be a resonable buying price for a 1997 honda civic ex coupe and why are they so hard to find?
A: a 97 civic ex…look from anywhere from 3500 to about 5000 for a reasonable price. and there a dime a dozen there are tons of them out there. but with the current gas prices you not going to find too many people willing to get rid of them.
Q: Honda civic?
Is there any way to test an ignition control module on a 1989 Honda civic.
A: Put it in water, if it sinks buy a new car.
Q: Honda civic?
Hey. I am working on my 1989 honda civic. It won’t start. It wasn’t getting any gas to the engine so I took it the gas tank off to see if it was the fuel filter in there. That was all clean. I put it all together. Gas is getting to the engine now, but it still won’t start. Any ideas. If any, please be as clear as posible. I am not good with the whole mechanics terminology.
A: if you were good enough to remove the tank and check an internal filter, then you are a grade above the norm. All cars need two things to start. Fuel and fire. If you are certain that the fuel is making to combustion, then it has to be fire. Start with the easies – spark plugs and wires, distributer. Check your sylanoids, etc. ‘89 was a good year. You should be able to get it going, and continue to see a lot more life out of it. If all else fails, most parts stores are more than willing to shell out free advice. Use caution though. Lots of times they are you telling you stuff just to get you to buy MORE parts. I don’t know your age anything, but if you are still in H.S., then see about having the auto tech class checking it out for you.
