Q: About modifications to the new Dodge Challenger?
Hello, if I buy the new Challenger, the high end one producing in the low 400’s horsepower,
and i add long tube headers, a good after market exhaust, and a good cold air intake
how much horsepower and I looking at?
A: if your lucky enough to get a new challenger i wouldn’t make many changes to it for a while, your warranty will be no good at all if you modify it,and the warranty is an important thing to have, good luck.
Q: What do you think of the new Dodge Challenger vs the Old 70’s one?
So now that the new Challengers are out ( Yes I have see and even touched one) What would you rate them compared to the 70’s challengers?
A: I had a chance to see likely 30 or so at the Chrysler’s at Carlisle show this year
I did not drive one
I will say every one with the orange paint had (what seemed to be) a really horrid paint job – they had grey, black red, blue, and silver and they looked fab (esp the black)
I do agree that they are overweight – I would have liked to seen one offered without the following items – Air, Power steering, radio, all the electronic do-dads
This will not stop me from buying one
I would not compare them to the 70’s challengers – they are really different cars
Q: Why is the new Dodge Challenger more expensive than the new Camaro?
Hello, why is the SRT8 close to 40,000 dollars and the Camaro SS close to 30,000 dollars. They both reach the 400 something horsepower range with tons of torque and two great engines.
Why the 10,000 dollar difference.
A: because the 370z is cheaper and better
Q: How is the parking brake engaged in the new Dodge Challenger?
I was looking at some photos of it and it looks as if it’s by a little foot pedal, rather than a center console lever. I’ve never been a fan of the pedal kind.
A: Just push down with your foot to engage and push again on it to release it.
Q: Way to get the New Dodge Challenger Really Cheap?
I hope gas prices go to $6 a gallon. My reasoning is that most people are concerned with gas prices and won’t buy a car that gets poor gas mileage. This makes it better for me for two reasons: 1.) Gas mileage & gas prices are never factors for me when buying a muscle car, and 2.) I wouldn’t be using it as a daily driver anyway.
A: i hope your wrong on the gas prices i doubt that many people will buy the new challenger as an every day driver anyway, but it does like gas according to the spec sheet on it,it would make a nice week end cruiser though, but i wouldn’t wish 6 dollar a gallon gas prices on anyone right now, their high enough the way it is,i wouldn’t pay the asking price for one anyway, there will be used ones around in a few years for sale, their always is in any make of car,id by one then, right now buying one doesn’t seem logical, good luck.
Q: is the new dodge challenger supposed to take after the 70s challengers?
cause if so, i’m going to change the logos to charger logos, and put general lee decals on mine.
A: The General Lee (That noun is capitalized, son) was a Charger (about 256 of them, mostly 1968’s). Some folks are confused because the new Charger is a 4 door.
The new Challenger maintains a high degree of fidelity to the old Challenger lines, but is bigger. The similarity is strong enough that I have had several old Challenger owners ask if mine (2009) was a restored one from the 70’s.
It is your car, do what you want…but the General Lee was a Charger, here ya go, take your hat off when this plays!:

Q: Anyone recommend a new Dodge Challenger?
I was always a Mustang fan, but the new redesign does nothing for me. Can anyone tell me how the new Dodge Challenger rides, and if they would recommenced it? Any other perks? Not necessarily looking into the speed or racing aspect.
not interested in camaros ..
A: Absolutely do not listen to Mike. His opinions are HORRIBLE and unfounded. I’ve driven LX platform (Challenger/Charger/300) cars for nearly five years now, and they ride very very smooth. The Challenger has the best exterior looks, a decent interior (not great, or even good), can come with lots of options, and has great power if you get a Hemi (the V6 is underpowered – 2011 will be a much better year for the V6).
The redesigned LX platform will be much better with the 2011 model year coming around the end of the year. Still a great car, but be careful not to overpay for a 2008-2010 Challenger w/ 2011 around the corner.
Q: How much would a monthly payment on a new dodge challenger cost?
Just a rough estimate of what you think…the car cost $30,000…
A: depends on a number of factors, credit score, vehicle cost, interest rates and terms, money down, trade ins, etc, a nice challenger r/t with a 372 hp 5.7L HEMI would probably run about $600-$650 ish. You definitely want an RT so you can get the Lifetime warranty on the powertrain (not available on SRT8).
Q: What do you guys think about the new Dodge Challenger?
I’m not a big fan of musclecars, but this one is half muscle and half exotic to me… if I had the cash, I would buy it in about 5 seconds.
A: Love it, mopar or nocar.
Q: Will the new Dodge Challenger come in convertible?
I hope it does. A six speed would be cool too.
A: not sure dude…..that would be cool though…….those things look bad fast……
Q: What do you think of the new Dodge Challenger?
I saw plenty of pictures of it online but when I finally saw it up close I really did not like it that much. While I wouldn’t say it’s ugly I would say it looks a little bloated, especially the non SRT8 versions. I like the whole retro thing but I think the mustang and the upcoming Camaro combine retro and modern better. Do you agree why or why not?
A: I think they got caught with their gas-price pants down. Chrysler has always been known for being big, expensive and gas guzzling.
However, in all honesty if you are going to buy it, as the cliche goes, now is a great time to buy. Literally, I mean it’s a great time to BUY OUTRIGHT…for $20,000 cash…because nobody has credit, not even the dealers. Just wave a stack of hundred dollar bills in the dealers face and he might lower it another couple thousand…or show it to him just before you walk out the door after he turns down your offier.
Q: Will the new Dodge Challenger come in covertible?
If anyone has heard anything, please let us know! Thanks!
A: according to what I’ve read on various sites the answer is no. They originally planned don it but i believe money is an issue. There will be a convert able challenger at the SEMA show this year though.
Q: The new dodge Challenger.Well what about a new Cuda as in Plymouth Barracuda?
The new Dodge charger is supposed to be coming out in 2008 .So why don,t they bring out a Cuda as in plymouth barracuda? ,which was based on the same platform of the E- bodied dodge Challenger of the early 70s.
in the fist part of this question ,I meant Challenger not Charger …..Doh!!!
A: Looks like all those rumors about Chrysler reviving the ‘Cuda (Barracuda) nameplate were true after all.
A series of scoop pictures were taken from the SEMA showroom in Las Vegas today giving us a sneak peak of what Chrysler has in store for us tomorrow morning.
For the time being however, there’s no info whatsoever on the new ‘Cuda but it’s obvious that the concept is based on the 2009 Dodge Challenger and that it’s wearing a Dodge Charger interior
Q: How much will the new dodge challenger cost?
A: Two chickens and a donkey.
Q: Does anyone have a new Dodge Challenger?
How do you like it? What is the good and bad?
A: Good friend of mine got his about a month or two ago and absolutely loves it. Then again he only drives high horsepower v8’s. I would buy the 6-speed SRT myself, but I’ve all ready got a Charger. I’d say the bad part is you’ll end up wanting to spend more money on upgrades, but otherwise they’re reliable cars and the only problem I’ve had with my charger (basically the same car with 4 doors) was the interior fan started to squeal so I had it replaced at 30,000 miles.
