Q: Anyone have a Nissan skyline for sale? not too far from NY.?

A: Doubt anyone would considering the imports of them have been cut off and they’re not road-legal in America.

If they did though, expect to be paying over 75,000. Alternatively, I have one which I’ll sell for $1000.

Two problems with that though: I live in Australia, and it’s a 1988 R31 Skyline.

A: You can’t legally, hell getting it illegally is getting harder. I own an ER34 and live in Japan and I wouldnt buy that car, for that price. If you really have the money and the time to do this you be better off A. Buying a EVO, or STI or even a 240SX and swapping the eng. Or B. Buying a Skyline already in the states, although they might be gray market.

A: US Customs may not even allow the car into the USA You might have to have a bond posted for the value of the car and a place to preform the modifications to tow the car to. Department Of Transportation safety standards and Environmential Protection Agency will need testing from a approved laboratory that the car meets emissions standards. Three governmential agencys and after your car is modified it will not make the power it had before. Then there are problems with rust car age and how it was driven GT-R have a hard life. What if you spend 10 to 12 thousand to get the car USA spec and drive the car a couple months and the motor spins a rod bearing or turbocharger fails? Parts for euro Japan spec cars are not sold here. You better have a good parts supplier overseas.
I almost alway’s say just buy a brand new 370 Z fully loaded car that is warrantied for 6 years 60,000 powertrain 3/36 bumper to bumper and 8 80,000 emissions. Add stronger sway bars and have fun.

How hard is it to acquire a nissan skyline? How much would one be? They’re my all time favorite car (which is amazing) and i probably wont get one until a few years (if i could ever find one they’re nowhere to be found for sale) But yeah, so how much would one be do you think if its brand new-ish and where could i get one?

A: Skylines have been around since 1957 and offered in a mix of forms,More recent models are sold on the US as the Infinti G35 G37 and the GTR model is sold as a R35 GT-R around the World.

RB series Skylines where sold in Japan and Australia with a 100 v spec models per R33 and R34 gens sold in the UK all others around the World are grey imports.

There are a good few RB series Skylines in the US and it is a matter of finding one which has had all the legal mods to be in the US and also all the right paperwork.

There are a good few Skylines in the US which have slipped through loopholes and do have the right paperwork but often carry a risk if moved state to state.There are companies which filter them into the US a search engine is a good place to try for that.

How much depends so much on models like GTS GTS-T GTR then there is specs like v spec n1 spec and then there is model specs like type m type j etc.And also which model,R32 models are the older RB models but still great cars and offer great tunable engines from its single to twin turbo engines,mixed with great handling still not seen in most modern cars,after all these where the ones given the Godzilla title.

Glad you like the Skyline i feel in love with it back in 1989 when i saw a pic of the then coming out R32,luckily my wife told me to buy one a good few years ago i was really hoping it would live up to what i imagined,and it did so well that even my wife feel in love with them we are now on our second and had many great years with this one and selling this one atm for another Skyline.

Practically such cars are mentioned to exist in the trade section as models, but there isn’t any car available for sale. So they don’t exist or they’ll be given for download, or something else?

A: Several RUF Cars are available for download on the Marketplace. However, they are in Premium packs, that cost MS Points as well as in-game money.

There are free packs, that are sponsored by car companies like Lexus, Nissan etc. with some cars. Although these packs are free, you still need in-game money to buy these cars.

A: It sounds a great buy and not that expensive for the car it is,best thing is compare it to other Skyline which are selling where you live,check out ebay and import firms for that.
But for the car it is you can’t go wrong with a look after Skyline,and there not a car you will need to change often and it ticks all the boxes with speed looks and room and body styles to keep you going for a long time.

Get on Skylineowners.com before you look at one as there is a buyers guide on there site having maintenance atm else i would have given you the link also it a free forum.
One thing i did notice was you said RB26det against the rb26dett as the GTR came as a twin turbo only and the gts was the non turbo and the gts-t was the single turbo version.

A: yes it is. just so long as you’re not in the USA, Canada, or most other places barring England, Australia, or Japan. Assuming you’re in the USA, (because I’m from there, so I can explain from there.) here’s what would happen if you bought that.
1. you’d pay for it.
2. it would be loaded into a container.
3. it would cross the ocean to the USA.
4. Customs would seize it and crush it before you ever got to drive it, for it being a Skyline, and there not being a current RI who can import Skylines. Only 96-98 R33s can be imported to the USA, and still, they haven’t solved the problem with cars over 1996 requiring an OBDII, and skylines having an OBDI.
5. you would receive no money back, and would be out about $6,000 (price of car+shipping)

I will admit I don’t know if you’re in the US, but I look and say “you might be.”
If you ARE in the US, don’t go looking for skylines in other countries. if you want a skyline in the USA, buy a MOTOREX skyline already here, and be prepared to pay quite a pretty penny for one, or buy a skyline over 25 years old, and therefore not needing to conform to US regulations.

A: I had a link to a garage in Texas whom was selling the R32 and R33 gtr but they have all gone now .
The R34 will be a killer to find or a killer to import unless you have the money,as even here in the UK where there are plenty the price is still really high.
If your going for a R34 it might be worth seeing what will be needed to be done to get one to you paperwork and what emissions etc is needed as it seems each state is different .

Then even go for the R34 GTT as it will be cheaper at the start and you can still reach GTR power.Also there is often many GTS-T versions on eBay.com with all the US paperwork,i know these are older versions but are still great cars and again can reach GTR bhp and are cheaper to start off with.

A: Nah, get yourself a proper car, there are currently 25 Jaguar XK8’s in Autotrader in your price range. Not quite a two seater but good quality sports coupe with presence, that will still be going when the Skyline, nice though it is, will have been ragged into the ground.

Oh well, it was only a suggestion!

it will only be 13 years old and hopfully you like skylines by then cos they are awesome!!

There is no financial restrictions, you can choose as many vehicles as you like, but they must fall into at least one of these specific catagories:

1) Award winner (from any awarding body)
2) unique, or at least designed for a purpose filled by not many other vehicles
3) Record breaker, in technical, sales and longevity terms or any other aspect you can think of
4) Important place in history, or as important as a vehicle can be.
5) Any other category you can think of.
