Q: What is a good, cheap stereo deck for a 1993 toyota camry?
I’m looking for a stereo deck for my car, a ‘93 toyota camry, and im hoping to stay under $100 if possible. Just as long as it has a CD player and a FM tuner I’ll be happy. Suggestions?

A: Here is loads of them for sale, this is the cheapest place II’veever found them….Just make sure it is a rreliableseller with good feedback from others.

Q: What would cause a red tinted liquid to soak through the driver’s side carpet in my Toyota Camry?
2000 toyota Camry. The driver’s side floorboard feels wet. the substance seems to be a bit oily, thin. When you clean it with a cloth the liquid is tinted a red color. THis is the only seat it is happenning in, not the passenger side. Car is running fine.
Automatic. Just had a brake job done, brakes seem fine. no fluid levels are low. I ‘ve had it inspected in the last month as well as some other minor maintain work done, timing belt, water pump. Problem happened a few months ago and I soaked it all up. It just started happening again. liquid has no appearant odor. About a year ago the radiator was replaced along with the heater core. I have taken the car on 2 hr trips with no brake trouble, etc.

A: It is ATF oil or brake clutch fluid leaking.

Better have it checked asap.

Good luck

Q: How to use lower gears on the 2009 Toyota Camry LE?
I recently purchased an AUTOMATIC 2009 Toyota Camry LE. This car is NOT SEMI-AUTOMATIC but does have the lower gears of 4, 3, 2, and 1 under D. Is it okay to use these gears regularly to manually shift the engine? If so, at what rpm would you recommend shifting up and down?

A: With an auto tranny, it is best to just keep the tranny set for the D setting, so that the car can shift for itself.
If you’re asking about shifting gears yourself, it’s not good for the auto tranny to be doing that like it’s a manual transmission.
Now, the gears are listed individually, and are there to be used if needed. But you shouldn’t really pretend it’s a manual transmission and drive that way all the time.

Mucho Big Bucks have been spent by Toyota, and all of the car makers, to give the very best performance out of an auto transmission, so that you get the best ratio of performance and economy. The individual gears are there if they are needed under SPECIAL circumstances.
Such as driving thru mountains, when going downhill for a long ways, you want to shift into lower gears, so that you don’t have to use the brakes much, otherwise, you could actually overuse and overheat and over-destroy the brakes. That’s why the 3 and 2 settings of the gears are avalable, especially the 2 setting. 1st gear is used only if you’re going to be towing something for a short distance, or even if you need to try and get car out of snow or sand.

I’m not sure about what rpms you should use to shift, because that pretty much depends upon what the redline is for each individual car. A higher redline means that each gear can go higher rpms.
It’s easier to find out by speed.
1st gear usually should be shifted around 10-15 mph, and usually tops out at 25.
2nd gear usually can be shifted at 25, and sometimes can go as high as freeway speeds, which is why it is the favorite gear to use when coming down from mtns, because the gear can go faster, yet has the torque available to keep car at lower speeds. But if your car is a 5 spd, the range of 2nd gear in your car may be lessened.
3rd gear will be good from 35 up to freeway speeds of 60-70 mph. But it’s obviously best to run freeways at at least 4th gear, which can be shifted into even as low as 40 mph, or 45 mph. 5th gear is best only for constant freeway speeds.

Have you ridden a 10 speed bike? YOu know it’s easiest to start peddling when the gears are low, because the pedals move faster, and in shifting as you pick up speed, so that the pedals are still able to be used safely and correctly. It’s exactly the same with a car transmission, whether auto or manual.

So if you’re thinking of using the single gears as if they were a manual tranny, I”d greatly suggest you NOT to do it. There’s lots of extra gears and works inside an auto tranny that’s not in a manual, and constantly moving the gears manually will wear the tranny out other than being done automatically. The tranny was built with it to be used automatically. So too bad you couldn’t have gotten a standard tranny, but messing around wth the auto tranny like that will also mess up your warranty on your brand new car!!

Q: What is the recommended Antifreeze/Coolant for my 1991 Toyota Camry?
I’ve just so far added water but would like to know what type of antifreeze/coolant can be put in my 1991 Toyota Camry.
Preferrably without draining it since I don’t know how to do that. Could I just top it off?

A: There will usually be a sticker of some sort under the hood near the radiator stating the type of anti-freeze to use in your car. Take a look; if not just call any autp parts store and I’m sure they can tell you.

Q: How many rear wheel bearings does a ‘00 Toyota Camry Have?
I have to replace my rear wheel bearings for me 2000 Toyota Camry. The parts are pretty expensive and I’m not sure how many rear wheel bearings I need to purchase. If you know a lot about cars please help. Thanks!

A: I haven’t had any problems with wheel bearings on those cars so my first thought is get a second opinion…

To answer your question there are 2 of them and the rear bearings are not expensive. They are a factory part #9036943008 and list for around 67.00 from the dealer. You can call a dealer to verify this. Labor is 3.5hrs for both sides. :)

Q: I want to know which is the best octane to use in a V6 Toyota Camry from 1992-2006?
For a Toyota Camry V6 from 1992-2006 or a Toyota Avalon from 1995-2006,the owner’s manual states that you can use the regular 87 octane, but it also states that the premium fuel(91 or higher) is recommended for optimum performance.Which octane would work better in the long run & last longer without having a mechanical problem?

A: Regular or Premium if the auto runs on regular and does not run ruff (like pinging or shacking real bad) I would use that fuel. The price today for fuel is over the hill.I agree with the higher octane for better running, but I feel how you maintain the car is going to warrants problems and driving habits

Q: How long do I have to wait to recieve my new 07 toyota camry xle?
I bought a new toyota camry 07 xle with a navigational, and other amenities. They didnt tell me how long it could take, but i wanted to know what is the actual length before recieving it.

A: yes you could have saved yourself some money had you gone with the chevy, but I work for toyota and the camry is one of the safest cars out there right now, highest rated for crash tests.. better fuel economy and it looks great.. as to how long you might have to wait for your camry, it depends on the features that you had put on the car when ordering it, if you went with a fully loaded one, it could take 4-6 weeks depending on if you got a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.. it will also depend on the color of the car, because some colors are more rare then others..

Q: How high should my RPMs go on my 2003 Toyota Camry when I’m accelerating from a stop?
It usually hits 3,000ish RPM when I acclerate mid throttle from a stop but my friend who drives a 1999 Toyota Camry usually hits 4,000-5,000 RPMs on acceleration. So how high is best for the engine so I’m not being too aggressive or too soft on the car?

A: 3000 RPM’’s is very sensible, normal and practical driving–the kind you would do to not overwork your engine. 4000 to 5000 is pushing it, and while it may not hurt the engine..it is running it harder than necessary to drive normally…anything higher than 5000 is just ridiculous. It would cost you much more gas, and wear your engine components out far sooner. So you are doing it just right!

Q: Will automatic transmission from 1979 Toyota Corolla fit a 1990 Toyota Camry?
My Toyota Camry has been vibrating very rough from start to 3rd gear. It will not go very fast until it goes into third and then it goes OK. I think it might be the transmission. Any ideas?

A: NO

Q: Why is my 2000 Toyota Camry making a new noise in Front?
Last month I had my engine mount replaced on a 2000 Toyota Camry with 140,000 miles on it. About a week ago, it started making extra noise, coming from the front of the vehicle. It sounds like a quick vibration and it is loudest when accelerating. There are no dash panel lights on and I haven’t noticed any change in fuel consumption. This is making my wife a little nervous. Should I be worried or is this something that happens around 140,000 miles?

A: On the Camry, i believe there are 3 motor mounts, did you replace all of them???

If the noise is that loud especially during acceleration then i believe the installation of the motor mount was done incorrectly. I heard alot of aftermarket parts are going bad, something about lower production cost

my suggestion buy OEM….. heres a website http://toyotapartszone.com/

Great prices and customer service, got my rav 4 fixed for cheap and made it back to its original condition :)

Q: Anyone know how to convert a 1990 Toyota Camry 2.0 from gas to diesel or have a link?
Anyone know how to convert a 1990 Toyota Camry 2.0 from gas to diesel or have a link?

A: You will have to put in a new motor.
You can’t turn a gas motor into a diesel, different systems.

Q: What are some upgrades for a Toyota Camry year is 1999?
I have a 1999 Toyota Camry, I want to put some stuff in it to make it have better gas mileage and maybe go a little faster. The one thing I want to happen is a faster response time on the gas. What kind of things can I put in it?!?!?!

A: I had a 1992 Toyota Camry. I would buy one of those portable fans you can plug into your fuse box. Instead of using the Air Conditioner… use a fan to cool off if you can.

Q: Why does the 2007 Toyota Camry have so many problems?
I was looking on getting a 2007 Toyota Camry LE,
I read a bunch load of personal reviews and opinions about
the car, and it seems like that particular year has some
problems concerning transmission and acceleration.
Most people do not recommend the car.

Has anyone ever had any experience with these kinds of problems
with the 2007 model?

A: Yeah….we own a 07 Toyota Camry, we DID NOT experienced this issue, transmission and acceleration, in fact a lot of people didn’t, it all depends upon how you drive your car, the harder you push the throttle the more the transmission started acting up (THIS WAS EXACT WORDS FROM DEALER WHEN HE EXPLAINED US THE SITUATION). This was over the news that the dealer had a software upgrade for the ECU, we took it to the dealer and there you go. We were just notified along with the recall by our dealer. The reviews you read are not helpful, those are probably from ANTI-Toyota fans…..
